Yes, BC1 was a console exclusive.

Negative. BF3 is amazing! :D And about tanks, they are supposed to be hard to deal with if you play certain classes.

I'll just go on record and say this now, BC2 is the best Battlefield game ever.

100+ hrs on the BC2 beta, 500 hrs on the game.... BF3 just seemed off. BC3 or bust!

The problem with BF3 on consoles was that it felt like BC2.5.

Mostly undestructable enviroments and unlocks taking forever (unless you want to pay them $40 bucks) make me say yes.

EDIT: I own both on PC, never touched 360 versions.

Haven't played BF3 on PC (I imagine its better, though still nowhere near the brilliance of the original BF1942), but its terrible on consoles. BC2 is easily the better game.

The flak guns in 1942 were lethal, and the .50 cal was pretty usefull too (and readily available). Of course if a pilot was smart, observant, and skilled, they cold cause some major damage - but an equally smart, observant, and skilled infantry man could take him down.

As a PC gamer it's tough to say this but I also prefer BC2 over BF3. BF3 was great for a week or two but rapidly lost any fun value it had. These days it's really hard to have any fun while playing the game. It's pretty hard to even describe why the fun is missing because everything important seems to be in place. Also while BF3 might look better in theory, I prefer the way BC2 looks. Also 30-50fps in BF3 vs. 100+fps in BC2. I don't know how they made BF3 run as bad as it does considering how great BC2 runs.

BF3 needed to have a proper polish+fun (aka. Valve) pass before they released it but we all know how tight their schedule was. It's hard to patch the fun in after the game is released no matter how hard you try.

it's quite telling that when DICE works harder the game becomes less fun. More pressure = less fun.

I like BF3 but I honestly think BF1943 is more FUN than all of them.

Jets are fun as hell and they're not OP. And the big maps are great for 64 players. Especially the B2K maps. I also love having prone.

BF2 to BF3 is just an easier transition for me than BF2 to BC2. That's probably why I like BF3 more on the PC.

Yep.

Sold my BF3 and still have my BC2.

Pissed too cause I was planning on skipping BF3 after playing the beta. But friends and co workers kept asking to get it and we could all play together. Figured why not, I'm no CoD fan but almost any game can be fun with friends.

Soon as I bought it everyone went back to their games they were playing before BF3. CoD, Halo, BC2, etc.

That's when I looked at some of my friends trophies and realized that these friends just buy every shooter that comes out no matter what.

I have Starhawk, BC2, Socom Confrontation, Socom 4, Warhawk, UT3 for screwing around with mods.

That will hold me over until BC3 is announced.

BF3 did not feel better than BC2 at all. Looked pretty but I prefer the gritty look of BC2. And has the vietnam pack, that alone makes it better.

You know, I'd play more BC2 Vietnam (PC). I find it loads of fun. I'd play at least off and on with BF3, if I could find more than three totally stacked servers with people playing in them.

For now I'll stick to BF3, especially since Close Quarters is coming soon. Maybe we'll get the M14 with Armored Kill...

I think personally sniping in bc2 was much better, but everything else about bf3 is better other then sniping. I really wish they would not have added the glare in bf3, today's soldiers use anti-glare scopes so why is this not an option in bf3? Wtf dice?

DICE balance.

metrics showed that everyone complained about too many snipers in BC2, so they made it harder to snipe.

That's because Battlefield isn't supposed to have a campaign.

It looks cleaner, the gunplay feels tighter/heavier (especially heavier) and somehow there was generally more fun to be had. BC2 felt like old EA/DICE, BF3 feels like "We must battle CoD!" EA/DICE. It doesn't feel like love went into the game, y'know :(

Mmm.

Feel the same, enjoyed BC2 for a console game but BF3 just seems to be lacking something, that "BF touch", can't stand playing it really. The maps are so freaking small too, what's up with that?

Love me some BF2, though.
