Fuck how can I get my hands on this. Looks a little laggy during gunplay and they would only issue witty quips not orders during gunfights, but that looked and sounded like SG1 to me.

This looked pretty awesome. I was a huge stargate fan back in the day, its well past its used date by now but i was always waiting for a stargate game to arrive but it never came.
I remember 10+ years ago when i first brought my torque engine i started on making a standalone stargate game. We started by initially porting a dead/defunct tribes 2 stargate mod and soon we had a pretty awesome standalone stargate multiplayer game coming. Unforunetely we then got the dreaded cease and desist from MGM so sadly it never saw the light of day. A stargate game when it was popular would have been awesome IMO. Sad to see this never saw the light of day. |

People don't realize how hard voice acting is. There is a reason that most actors don't do it. Look at Bill Murray on the Ghostbusters game, even he has done a ton of voice overs, doesn't mean he was good at it though.

I rather liked Bill Murray's glib, "obviously didn't care" take on the dialogue in the Ghostbusters game, but then again it fit within the world of GB. O'Neill just lacked his normal sarcastic enthusiasm, where as say Carter normally didn't emote as often, so she sounded pretty much spot on here. Teal'C was pretty good on a second listen it seemed, though hearing all the Jaffa die made it obvious Christopher Judge did the death screams. |

Video for the 1st part of the Tok'ra mission reposted, in higher quality (much higher!). PC build is in most ways, more complete. Give it a bit to process.

Unfortunately, nope. Not sure what is up with Youtube tonight and why the video isn't working yet. Will reupload in the meantime. Another video is compressing for upload.

Yep, digging through the files are fun :)
And really, thats what I was thinking. At the very least, if you think the game would have come out in 2006 (this was a 2006 build, so it wasn't making 2005), graphically anyway, it would have been right at home with most titles of the day. It wouldn't have rivaled Gears of War, but most titles didn't (or don't, even now) look as good as GoW did. |

Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed that the company imploded with licensing lawsuits and whatnot, as it might have helped boost the franchise at the time (Stargate was "popular", but never really as big as any of its contemporaries).
How complete is the game in terms of the story? Where would it fit into the franchise timeline. |

The game was relatively complete, but clearly not finished. I know that doesn't make sense but...
Basically, the game was near Alpha state or Alpha, meaning it is playable pretty much straight through. Some stuff is either cut or missing at this stage of the game, and it still crashes a lot, but that isn't the point of the alpha. Not all of the cutscenes are implemented though. Some of them are obviously, which you can see in the videos, but before and after the missions were suppose to have cutscenes. I have the audio for those scenes, or most of them anyway. I'm not sure if the cutscenes exist in an early form in the code or not, it is something I'll be looking into over time. Story wise, it takes places while Anubis is still 'alive' and using his Super Soldiers. Due to budget (or some other excuse), Hammond is called back to the SGC, and Jack goes back into the field. The main enemy of the game, the Haaken, were actually considered to be mentioned in the TV show, so that would have been neat. |

Looks good for an xbox1 game but for a 2006 game I would hope it looks that good.
It's a shame the Stargate franchise has lacked in the videogame department. MGM really failed there. Stargate would've been perfect for co-op and I also wouldn't have objected to playing a Stargate MMO. Edit: I see there was an MMO in development but the developer went bankrupt. Darn.

First season was a joke until the very first mythology episode - I think that was where the Furlings came up, yes? - and even then, it's still touch and go for a while. As much as I love the show, it does have its share of problems. :p

I don't think Worlds ever got to open beta status before they dev team got hit with a money crunch and had to set it aside for the multiplayer shooter. |

I seem to remember something being released on Steam anyway. Was that a shooter? |

The MMO was in closed beta for a good while before the dev went under. That actually had potential which is a shame. Maybe Stargate will get a revival and hit big so we can get an actual good game at some point. It is tailor made for video games, especially an MMO, it's shocking it has had so much trouble getting one. |

Stargate Resistance was the shooter, wasnt good at all.
I've been speaking to many people who were in the closed beta of SGW, that was not in good shape either. I have two or three builds of it, but haven't really had a chance to get into the files yet (obviously there won't be gameplay of that one, other than what people recorded already) |

Imagine how the game would turn out if one of these devs got their hands on it and made it a trilogy (some light hearted fun):
Now most of them are from personal experience and some are from the reputation that I have read. What it look like in your opinion if devs that you know, like or dislike were to make it? |

Good job on posting the videos Borman, I've been a huge fan of SG since its premiere back in 1997 and I always held out hope a Stargate themed FPS would see the light of day. Watched all the videos you posted and needless to say the developers actually did a really good job of capturing the feel of the show, it's a damn shame this game didn't see the light of day as it really is a great looking game.

Torment of Tantalus was the one with Ernest and where they learned of the meeting of the four races. The Fifth Race was the one when Jack got Ancient knowledge stuck in his head and met the Asgard. Both are pretty big universe-expanding episodes.
