If you have a decent PC, you should hook up your PC to it and use 3D via NVidia 3D Vision, or the AMD equivalent, or if those don't do it for you, use IZ3D. It'll work with most 3D games, including emulators (Gamecube/Wii/PS2 games in 3D, yay).
I can't give you any specific recommendations, however... Though I will say I hear Wipeout is great in 3D. |

I've played a few that have been pretty fun. I'll give you a rundown of the best.
Shadow of the Colossus: Full 720p resolution, mostly solid framerate, and amazing depth. Probably the best 3D implementation. Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus: Full 720p resolution, framerate stable (albeit at 30 rather than 60), fantastic depth. Sonic Anniversary PS3: This one surprised the hell out of me in stereo 3D. What a rush! The depth is not as extreme as with titles above, but it made the modern Sonic stages amazingly thrilling and gave the 2D ones an added kick. I really enjoyed it. From what I could tell, the framerate stayed at 30fps and the resolution at 720p. I rarely see it mentioned in these threads, but it's really worth checking out. Crysis PS3s: People complain about the "simulated" nature of the 3D in this game (in addition to all the other complaints that get leveled at the PS3 port) but I enjoyed how this game looked in 3D quite a bit. The same holds true for Batman Arkham Asylum and Assassin's Creed Revelations. Halo Anniversary has decent depth on objects close to you such as your gun or close enemies, but that depth dissipates rapidly as objects grow even slightly more distant. It's a somewhat strange implementation, and not as great as I'd hoped. I played the Super Stardust demo. The 3D's great, but the game wasn't my cup of tea. Try out the demo, though. |

I've had a 3D tv for a little over a year now, and there have been only a few stand-outs.
I think both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were really great with 3D. Uncharted 3 played well in 3D all the way through, and Wipeout is a lot of fun on PS3 with the 3D mode. I've found almost all first person shooters to be pretty poor in 3D. Resistance was a real mess, noticeably dropping the framerate and making me feel sick. |

For console the only one that's really that special is super stardust, 0 ghosting, no real loss of resolution or framerate and the depth just looks cool because you fly around on a giant sphere.
I've got a decent gaming pc with a 3d monitor and the effect is very mixed even there- it's a little known bit of info but 3d on hdmi 1.4 ( the way most of use are likely viewing at home) runs at 2560X720@60 fps @ 120hz OR 3840X1080@ 24fps @ 60hz. That's all the bandwidth available on the cable. So on a pc - if you render the game at 1920X1080 and then put it into the tridef 3d driver, the monitor is simply scaling that full HD frame into 1280X720 for each eye and switching between each side at 120hz. This ends up causing hud elements and text to look like shit. Or, alternatively a few games support FULL HD 3d but ... it makes the game run at 24fps which... looks not so good. That's the framerate you expect to see for a movie but not for a game. All that aside, when the effect works- it works fantastically but many games on pc support it only through 3rd party drivers which just render 3d with direct X , only games designed with the 3d in mind from the ground up seem to work correctly 100% of the time, otherwise you end up with a ton of ghosting or the 3d just flat out breaks when the camera moves. |

Yup it's pretty great. I remember being so disappointed by NBA 2K11 so much ghosting. But I guess the tech just isn't quite there yet.

By ghosting I assume you two mean crosstalk? It largely depends on your display. DLPs and the HMZ-T1 are the best when it comes to crosstalk.
On my 23'' Samsung 3D monitor I can usually eliminate crosstalk by sitting 4 feet from the screen. This may not work for other displays but it's worth trying to find a sweet spot distance.

Just my opinion though, I just couldn't handle games like Motorstorm or U3. If you have a high end pc, 3D games are much better at 720p60. I still choose 1080p60 every time, I always prefer to play games at the native resolution of my tv though. |

Sounds like you have an AMD card. My experience with 3D, especially in non 3D vision titles, has been quite memorable. |

Are there any games that have 3d so good you play with it on from start to finish?
Having a 3ds I learned quickly that 3d is something you turn on and off, and it depends on one's mood. Luigi's mansion dark moon seems like masterpiece from the 3d trailer as a game with great 3d ideas in its design. |

For me, while the effect in Wipeout HD Fury does look really nice, it's a pretty horrid experience at 30fps instead of 60, makes the game a lot harder. Uncharted 3 looked very good throughout, Super Stardust HD is very good in 3D and I could play MS Apocalypse fine in 3D mode as well. I still need to try Everybody's Golf World Tour with the 3D/Move patch too and that is a game well worth picking up (£7-8 on PSN atm including all DLC, it's a great deal). Gran Turismo 5 doesn't have the greatest 3D effect but it is still noticeable, although I rarely play it with 3D enabled. The GoW Collection Volume 2 demos showed off a really good 3D effect as well, well worth a download. Also 3D Rift looks amazing in 3D, although I don't play it now that I have MS Apocalypse. Hopefully that should get you started!

This is an obvious place where the next generation of hardware will improve. |
