![]() Caught a few of the reruns on TV recently. Full of quirky moments, memorable scenes, great dialogue, and awesome slapstick, I think it’s a vastly underrated sitcom with the some of best ensemble chemistry in TV history. Hartman (RIP), Foley, and Root are all magnificent; even Joe Rogan and Andy Dick were tolerable. Some of my favourites: Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor.. DAMN! The Baseball Promo Macho Business Donkey Wrestler Trying to save Matthew’s Job Negative Campaigning Bill playing the piano The Cane |

This definitely has to be one of the most underrated sitcoms ever .I love this show, its still good to watch to this day. Very funny, amazing cast, and it was a fairly unusual setting for a sitcom. Shame though that Hartman was the lifeblood and when they tried to replace him with Lovitz, after he died. nobody would watch it anymore. I just don't believe he was given the chance.
PS. Anyone else find it weird how this show has Joe Rogan...Yes THAT Joe Rogan from UFC. I would have never pictured him in a sitcom. Like how the hell do you transition from a sitcom to UFC. |

I love the lecture about advertising. I think about it anytime anyone argues for "ad blockers." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhrnMbhMgmw

Smoking was one of the first episodes that cemented the Bill/Dave dynamic. |

Newsradio is one of the most underrated sitcoms of all time. The setups were hilarious yet not pretentious. Every character was fantastic, even Andy Dick's, which is saying something.
Screw everything else, Office Space and all, Jimmy James is Stephen Root's magnum opus. |

I support this topic with every fiber of my being.
I love how every time the network wanted them to do some theme episode they would totally subvert it. Then there's the DVD commentary where Warren Littlefield apologized for basically treating the show like shit and moving the time slot around constantly. GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES. |

I actually just happen to be in the middle of rewatching this series. It's true, it's great.
I was pretty young, I guess around 14, when Phil Hartman was murdered, but I was crushed, between this show and his role on the Simpsons. He was the man. That being said, I still enjoyed the final season with Jon Lovitz taking his place. It got a little out there, but was still quite entertaining for the most part. |

Most of my favorite comedies I don't actually like the characters, so Newsradio has a special place in my heart.

still my favorite sitcom of all time.
one of my favorite episodes was the one where they get rid of the sandwich machine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItJWttlyD58 but really, so many episodes were so great. I can't really think of any true stinkers. Love all the characters, but especially Jimmy James--the man so nice, they named him twice

Favorite sitcom. That said, show def took a hit when Hartman died. Also had a crush on Maura, but she didn't age to well on ER.

Newsradio and Early Editions are my two favorite shows on TV of all times, period.
My favorite character was not Phil Hartman, but the super talented handyman or the Richy Rich owner. When he bought everyone a Nissan Miata and gave Andy Dick a boxset of old comedy show (and the big reveal later), beautiful

The cast of Newsradio was damn near perfect, probably the best casting of any '90s sitcom barring The Larry Sanders Show.
Anyway, Maura Tierney was the first girl I ever got, like, lovesick over. I crushed on her for years and years. |
