Also, holy shit, did Ariel get to Sapp?
He actually TRIED and went the distance, can you believe it? Needs to be played with 'Going the Distance' from Rocky as the background theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=MYYKGr9OSCU |

I bet he was hoping the ref would stop around 2:30 but the opponent's arms gassed and stopped hitting him. Opponent also looks at least 2-3 weight classes below him.
Also Sapp had him fully mounted and let a fighter probably 60-70 lbs lighter sweep him like nothing. Edit: Sherdog has his opponent at 185 lbs. Sapp has like 150 lbs on him.

UFC 147 gets better and better. Now even though almost nobody in the US knows who they are anyway, one of the TUF finalists Daniel Sarafian is injured and out of the fight .. making the event even more pointless. I can't see many people in the US buying this PPV card.

Tito is an absolute lock for the UFC hall of fame and anyone questioning his importance to both the company and the sport is kidding themselves. |

Does anybody think that some of the Pride legends that have not had success in the UFC such as Crocop and Wand will make it into the Hall of Fame? I think they damn well should since Zuffa owns Pride now. Just like how WWE inducted WCW wrestlers and guys from other promotions into their HoF.

Palhares shouldn't have taken this fight, I don't see him winning. He's going to get fucked up in the striking department, and good luck trying to pull Okami in your gaurd, dudes huge, Palhares doesn't have that power advantage that he usually has. Not to mention Okami is a good grappler, so he isn't automatically in danger if it goes to the ground.

edit: Of course, we know how it works, this is a horrible card on paper, which means it'll end up being awesome.

I was thinking the other day about Arlovski's prime and I have come to the conclusion that he didn't even have one. He's been getting KTFO since his early UFC days and has just been fighting better competition once he left the Ultimate. Sergei, Fedor and Bigfoot are better opponents than anybody that hes fought in the UFC.

Arlovski has been getting flash KTFO far before his UFC fights. His striking was usually just good enough to prevent it from happening.
Most people started realizing it during the Tim Sylvia KO. But it's happened way before that, in a fight that he was dominating. All of a sudden...... That was his first ever fight. If only he had Mark Hunt's chin!

John McCain and Harry Reid have proposed creation of a Federal Boxing Commission:
Under the legislation, all referees and judges participating in a championship or a professional fight lasting 10 rounds or more would have to be fully registered and licensed by the commission. A sanctioning organization could provide the names of judges and referees it considers qualified for that caliber bout, but only the commission could appoint judges and referees to participate in the matches. |
