Saint Seiya Omega 12
![]() That definitely more than made up for episode 11. Andromeda Shun is just so cool. That chain I want so much more.. I hope the other legendary saints show up, their skills, if like Seiya and Shun, then they are as hot as Ryuho, Haruto, Kouga, and Souma's. And was this episode great! Kouga and Ryuho teamwork for the win, I love when Kouga goes off to be, as Souma says, Cool on his own, it always leads to amazing things like that stunning defeat of the silver saint. |

Gundam Seed HD 17
![]() "Fire at that shadow, Gundam!" I kind of miss when Kira was happy and I miss Athrun, I can't wait to leave the desert, its so emotional and dreary. Pretty dumb fight though Kira was cool, dont understand when some crystal or something shatters in his head and he goes in serious mode |

The Fate/Zero social game for Japanese mobile phones will launch this Summer. Ufotable is involved in the production in some capacity, since they want to retain the anime art style. They'll be providing artwork for the game, not sure what else. The site currently rotates a series of illustrations of unusual rearranged master/servant pairings from the 7 teams:

This is kind of amusing to contemplate. I don't think you could find a less compatible pair than Kiritsugu/Gilgamesh. A master who treats his servant as a mere tool and has a wish that Gilgamesh would be utterly contemptuous of? How long would it take Archer to rain swords down on Kerry?

Hyouka Episode 9
I'm a little disappointed in this episode, although it wasn't really bad or anything. It just felt draggy, and after the previous episode I was really expecting more. It wasn't as interested as last week, and the theories were all kinda meh. It was still really pretty, and I guess the story arc is kinda moving forward, but like with most things Hyouka I just wish they got on with it instead of padding it with inconsequential stuff. |

As far as I'm concerned: Dezaki was the first episode director working in the anime business to treat his productions like they were flowing pages of moving manga, which is the inspiration for all of his stylized stills, abrupt action sequences, and general distortion of his character's emotions at a certain point in time. So, in addition to saving a decent amount of funding and time spent on an episode, he also applies his own experience as a mangaka to anime production itself. A very important man, and one of the first directors with a truly-distinct style. The other directors with as much distinction around that time never had as much of the limelight as him—not even Tezuka, or Masaaki Osumi.
I can see a lot of Dezaki in Dusk Maiden. |

Even most classic anime enthusiasts don't have knowledge of Band of Ninja -- hell, even some Oshima fans don't know about it. It's a weird movie which isn't really animation nor live action, and was Oshima's only foray into the anime industry. It's pretty unknown. |

Oh. Well that's sometimes the impression you give off, from my POV at least. Dezaki incorporated his style into cel animation, which is what I was referring to. This sounds plain different.
That makes more sense. I've never heard of it either. And, frankly, it sounds like it'd be considered a footnote even on Anipages, so there's that too. |

It would be an extremely strained relationship, to say the least. I also wonder how Irisviel would fit into this. She's definitely isn't getting the same courtesy from Gilgamesh that she got from Saber, that's for sure.

I think Gilgamesh would find Kiritsugu a very interesting person, and a very interesting Master. On top of that, his relationship with Maiya and Irisviel would play further into Gil's curiosity. One thing Gil finds extremely appealing is the potential for suffering, and the entire Kirtsugu set up is filled with that. Would Gilgamesh like Kiritsugu? Probably not. Would he find him fascinating? Without a doubt. Would this fascination create a positive dynamic for the team? It depends on what Kiritsugu does with it. Would this probably end badly for everyone involved? Without a doubt, but it would be really entertaining as well. :) |

Hyouka 09
The eh, episodes in terms of something happening always have the decent animations in explaining them, I guess to keep us entertained. So yeah, it wasn't as intriguing as last week's. I feel like there were some clues dropped in the written text, but I would imagine I would need some Holmes background to get that. At least, the episode got a little better with drunk Eri, but that was also might have been the episode was almost over by then. |

I know, I know, it's crazy. People don't watch anime for those kinds of reasons! But I really do think that's what makes the series so successful. I know that people like to argue that it's the fanservice or the SHAFT-isms or the lolis but we've already seen how all those factors don't necessarily make a show successful. If you took away those characteristics and the way those characters talk and that self-indulgent dialogue from the series it wouldn't be popular at all. |

Many of these I have linked to before but for the sake of figuring out if it really correlates to a show length preference. I guess it shows that I don't really prefer anything in particular.
