For everyone complaining about Nuketown lacking strategy, COD has never been an especially strategic game, in deathmatch at least (I don't play objective games). Secondly, though they were limited, there were definitely strategies you could use in terms of moving between key points of cover, using Claymores to cover the key passageways (quite effective give the small size of the map). Using stealth loadouts was also surprisingly effective - few people used them, so most just went running towards the gunfire, assuming no-one would be hiding. I got nearly all my biggest killstreaks on the map and never rarely had any problems with grenades: a weapon like the Stoner could hit at maximum damage along most of the map's key sightlines (and is very powerful firing from the hip, a very effective choice with the Wii's pointer controls). Again, like every COD map, strategy will only get you so far, but in many ways, Nuketown was not much less open to tactics than any other.
EDIT: It occurs to me that since I was playing the Wii version, with fewer players in each match, grenades might have been a bigger problem on other consoles. I'd still be surprised if it couldn't be mitigated with intelligent movement though. I always ran into the house as my first move and waited in the front doorway for the first few opponents to appear, as most were either looking down the alleyways or at the upper window.

Nuketown is total horse shit. How is that the biggest incentive in CoD history?
Sometimes, I don't think I "get" CoD. Everything everyone else seems to love, I realize I fucking hate. |

Zoo was far and away my favorite BLOPS map.
I also liked Villa, Cracked, Crisis, Jungle, Array, WMD, Grid, Hazard(Cliffside), Drive-In, Convoy, Kowloon, and Discovery. I didn't hate Summit and Firing Range but they'd be be closer to the bottom than the top for me. My bottom 4 were stadium, Hanoi, Havana, and Nuketown.

Wasn't a big fan of Nuketown but I will admit there were times when I'd just load into a Nuketown game to shoot shit without having to think about it. What I didn't like is how Nuketown 24/7 servers absolutely crowded the server browser after a few months. It's like most of the community gravitated to that map and left all the others behind.
What is really disappointing about this announcement is that now even Activision is jumping onto the pre-order bonus/retailer bonus bandwagon. That they never used to fragment their COD games before was one of the big advantages they had over EA who fucking split their games into a thousand pieces even before release. |

Ugh, Shipment was terrible. One of the reasons why I always hit up Ground War in COD4. Everyone loading up with triple frag and martyrdom...

Maybe it's just me, but I loved it. I remember the PC-version having servers with over 40 people, now that was epic. |

Opinions aside, the biggest incentive in COD history is a remake of an old map? wow...

This map was hilarious. I normally don't play COD, but whenever I went to my friend's house, shit went down on this map. It's small and fucking crazy. It works really good, IMO.
I will never forget this event they had in which it was nothing but Nuketown....basically someone had the helicopter and was destroying everyone. You spawned and you would get killed. My friend died 10+ times every time he respawned until he quit out. I was in fucking tears. :lol |

Some people think that Nuke Town does not allow for the rich tactical and strategic aspect of the game Call of Duty is known for.

Nuketown is a completely hilarious map to play with a friend or two. Using teamwork (usually a foreign concept to everyone else in the game) and staying in the back corner it's not long before your SAM turrets and Sentry guns have made around half the players rage quit. I really don't know if the map is just the mindless grind fest it appears to be, or if it's a work of self aware genius.
I Usually get about 2 weeks out of COD each year before I transition back to Battlefield as my default competitive FPS, last year I got barely 2 days out of MW3, due to the fact it was hot garbage. BLOPS2 needs to be pretty fantastic for me to even bother with COD anymore (and yes, I know if I had even half a brain I would have stopped playing it long ago). Bullshit day 1 DLC exclusives like this won't help the game much in my view (In fact I expect a backlash from players who haven't pre-ordered not being able to play with their friends). |

Nuketown is the epitome of Call of Duty; action-orientated, with the emphasis on reaction time and ability to handle pressure.
I love Nuketown because you don't have to run for miles just to find other people, and it's rare that anybody gets the higher killstreak rewards. Camping isn't anywhere near as viable as it is on other maps, as you're going to be spotted almost immediately. |

Its actually one of the easiest maps to camp in any Call of Duty. Its so small and fast paced people play so stupidly that its easy to rack up kills without ever leaving the houses.
