Well... I'm kind of disappointed tbh... I didn't really get into it. Maybe it'll grow on me?
Hopefully the album will be better.
Well, I doubt anything they ever do will top "Tragic Kingdom" but I sure wish someone would REALLY PISS Gwen off again so they could at least try to surpass it. |

Sorry, not a fan of Gywnn or No Doubt but was/am a huge Bush fan. Once he married her and she started with her Bannana songs Bush slowly slipped away in relavance till I think they disbanded recently. |

As for the song, I'm still loving it. Been jamming all day. The chorus is what does it for me, and that sexy 90s lead-out. |

Heard it on the radio today, glad they're back.
Love the song, though took a few listens. Wish the 30 sec intro wasn't so long. Video premieres in a few minutes! Amazon currently as free 2$ credit if anyone wants to pick up the song. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000815541 Download Link http://www.amazon.com/Settle-Down/dp...music-track_71 |

This just sounds like another solo track from Gwen. It's decent, but it's not the sound of a rock band. If they're going to call the music No Doubt, I'd prefer it sound like something that is actually created by a band, not a bunch of producers twiddling knobs.

To the people complaining that this doesn't sound any different than Gwen's solo work, did you...well, actually listen to her solo work? Probably not, because It sounds nothing like this. Hell, the very reason Gwen went solo in the first place was because she wanted to do a throwback 80s synth-pop album and the guys were basically like "fuck that shit. Do it on your own." THAT'S what Gwen's solo-work sounds like. She didn't do Ska. At all. She BARELY did punk. THIS TRACK is the closest she came to recording anything that even remotely sounded like No Doubt, and it was the third single from her second album that went nowhere. In short: this song sounds NOTHING like Gwen's solo work. Not even remotely. |

Don't Speak is one of the best songs of the 90s.
This is garbage. Everyone needs to watch this (especially those who have never heard old No Doubt): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR3Vdo5etCQ

I'd be more than happy if they did stuff like No Doubt's cover of It's My Life. |

Nor did Gwen really experiment with the same genres that No Doubt did. As I said, she barely touched Ska and Reggae on her solo albums if at all ("Rich Girl" and "Now That You've Got It" come the closest), and that's pretty much what "Settle Down" is. Honestly, I think the people complaining about this sounding like Gwen's solo work are people who have forgotten that No Doubt was always 99% Gwen's vocals anyway. People didn't mind that when her voice was associated ONLY with No Doubt. But now that she has solo albums under her belt apparently she has to do something different than what she's always done to return to the sound she helped originate? By the way, don't get me wrong I LOVE their cover of "It's My Life", but how does that not count as synthy experimentation with other genres of music? That's exactly what that song was for the band. |

My point was more that if the other band members didn't want to do synth-pop but would sign their names to something like It's My Life, then I'd be more than happy to see future No Doubt songs in the same vein as that song. |

"Hey Baby" "Hella Good" "Underneath It All" LOVED that album. ;__; but yeah Gwen is flawless solo |
