I love GB random banter as much as the next guy but this was way too much. They go over an hour without talking about games, can't say I was too into it...found myself skipping ahead lots. I hope this isn't a regular thing...we really need more games to come out.

I loved all the random banter at the beginning of this show, but I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone. The hummingbird stuff cracked me up and I loved the old arcade board talk. I follow these guys on twitter so I knew it was coming, I could see it being worse if you were only following the podcast and not really of the rest of the stuff they do.

Pretty much, though, I just go to GB for the personality, not the coverage. I'd be totally fine with just 3 hours of Jeff and Ryan talking about shitty reality tv instead of any game stuff. I guess if you go to GB for their opinion on games or whatever I could see it be disappointing, but I can't really say I go to any video game site for that. So... Yeah I am all for them talking about whatever in on their mind.

I disagree with what they were saying about how if a game is $2.50 or less then of course it's worth it. I saw someone asking if Garhasp is worth the $1.25 and to me it's not because I don't think it's a fun game. Some games just might not be worth your time no matter what they cost. You shouldn't go download every free to play game on Steam just because the price is $0.00.

my first summer in my apartment we had ants pretty bad, I dont like using pesticides so I found a natural ant repellant...baby powder, within 2 days most of them were gone, after a week they were gone never to be seen again
also, id rather have an army of fire breathing nuclear [insert insect here] then have spiders in my house |

Ah well, when it comes down to it I don't want any insects in my house, but I'd rather spiders than flies and mosquitoes. As long as the spiders aren't in my bedroom or bathroom I'm okay with them. In the yard they can stay.
Also I'm from australia and according to the internet our spiders kills everything within 50ft, so... :P |

Nothing is coming out, not much in the news, and they don't sound like they're playing much right now either. They're even cold on the steam sale. I'd rather hear a few random off topic shows then forced game talk.

I love how Jeff refuses to watch some of the most critically acclaimed media of the past 10 years like the Nolan Batman films and Game of Thrones. I'm actually passing on Game of Thrones myself, but because it just seems a little too dark and violent for my tastes.

I don't really give a shit what anyone watches but I do find his attitude of "Fuck Game of thrones" funny considering some of the stuff he watches (and watches a lot of, apparently). |

I don't follow the GB threads very much so sorry if this has been discussed to death the last week, but I'd like to chime in on the too much non games talk thing. I find myself without as much time to listen to podcasts these days and I'm down to just a few regulars, the bombcast being one of them, but these last 2 weeks I haven't made it past halfway, which is pretty much unheard of for me as I usually love the show. I've been thinking about why I listen to podcasts recently and I think its because they act as a replacement for conversations I wish I could have with my friends, but can't because they aren't obsessed with video games and tv like I am. So when I find myself listening to an hour of talk about just random shit, most of which I'm not interested in, I feel like the podcast isn't providing what I'm looking for. I can handle 15 or so minutes of funny banter to start with, but these last few weeks its just been boring. What's particularly annoying is Ryan now seems to have an active initiative to not talk about games for as long as possible. Maybe it would be better to just put that stuff at the end for the people who want to listen like they do on the Tested podcast.

A perfectly valid response.
Some people do wish to listen to more game talk and impressions. The bombcast this past summer has probably not been the most... efficient way to get that. But I find myself on the opposite side of the fence and prefer the off topic stuff more than the game talk. Yeah, even when it goes for over a hour and they're talking about HAM radio and hummingbird feeder masks. |

Well, for Game of Thrones I am pretty sure it has more to do with Jeff's distaste for anything fantasy related rather than its popularity or anything like that. I mean he never gave LOTR a chance either and always talks about how he prefers sci-fi to fantasy.

Man that was a weird bombcast. A bird feeder mask? $80?! And how they kept going wildly off topic then "So what you did play?" "Not much" and then back on to random things again. Listening to it in the dark, in bed, half asleep I thought I was dreaming some of the conversations.

00s Jeff: Nolan Batman? Sounds dumb, let's watch Torque instead. 10s Jeff: Fuck that Game of Thrones bullshit, let's watch Storage Wars! |

Sure, but that doesn't explain his aversion to the Batman movies when he really enjoyed the Batman games which have a fairly similar tone.

I'm pretty sure this exact sentiment has come up before, where Jeff said in a podcast that everything on TV or in the movies is complete garbage these days and then it turns out that all he watches is wrestling and C tier action flicks.
