I'd say it was merely decent. Whereas the console game could be frustrating because of having to learn the run, the iOS game is mostly frustrating due to technical flaws. I loved Mirror's Edge on PS3 -- think it's one of the coolest things to come out this generation -- but this wasn't all that fun for me.

There is MUCH less certification for iOS games than Xbox games. I think there may be iOS issues related to iCloud, GCenter, and being connected to the internet. It doesn't seem to work as flawless as playing offline on the xbox. |

I'm no developer in any way-so could someone explain to me in layman's terms how Achievements work?
So if I do an action in a game that meets the code of "if x=true, then "send achievement 12 true" message to the GameCenter API?" Is that about right? For instance right now in both Infinity Blade 2 and Hero Academy I've been working on progressive achievements- 1. Compete in 100 successful Clashmobs 2. Win 100 games with the Tribe/Dwarves And in both of these-I was doing fine-the percentage was going up and then it just becomes stuck. I've read on both of the forums of these developers that this is a known issue-but how does it happen? How does it work one minute and then not the next? |

It has a terraria start screen but then it's just some cheap, generic platformer. Doesn't even rip off terraria assets. Avoid. |

Terraria on a mobile device would consume my life, but I imagine it would be very hard to control with a touchscreen. You need mouse precision to carefully aim over the small blocks of material that you dig, smash and chop through. Even my dainty fingers would struggle with that.

Love me some Junk Jack! Perhaps not as deep as Terraria, but for an iOS game it kept me entertained for hours. Would definitely encourage you giving it a try... |

You did.
We usually tend to only push cross promotions into our paid games when a new game launches. We recently did one for TapDragonDrop going free, and there is one in all our other games right now promoting the free nature of Flick Kick Football. The Slam Dunk King "ad" is set to only appear once if someone has played 3 or more times. Any such notice we push into our paid games is usually on the same setting. We are pushing Slam Dunk King because we want to capitalise on the FKF promotion which, hey, we are giving away for free when it is normally paid. We try to keep the number of promos lite, and we have had zero complaints about those promos so far, but I certainly understand it might make someone hesitate or otherwise not invest in a title. If you find the function of particular concern, I should warn that ALL our current and future games have this, so something to consider before picking up in the future. |

Here's a post by Vlambeer, talking about the music for their upcoming games, with the first Ridiculous Fishing info I've seen in a long, long time. Hope it comes out... soon. Someday. Before the end of the year.

So, the Dreamcast title Fur Fighters is out on iPad. Why no love?

I picked up Fieldrunners 2 and Great Big War Game since I've been jonesing for strategy games; Fieldrunners is pretty good (bog standard tower defense, but that's exactly why I like it), but GBWG isn't really clicking for me. I'm still only a few missions in, but I feel like there's no actual strategy involved, and I just have to send waves of soldiers in clumps to take over enemy barracks.
What other strategy games (TBS or RTS) would people recommend? Ideally I'd like a good Advance Wars-ish game. I already have: - Mecho Wars - Hero Academy - Outwitters - Ravenmark - Uniwar |
