Heading down to the Glasgow Science Centre to check out batman. Nightout yesterday was alright. My crew had to leave the bar early so I decided to stay on for a bit for a change. Personally, knowing very little about the situation, I feel you did the right thing. Problem is, being a friend means supporting your homie whether they make the 'right' choice or the 'wrong' choice. As long as they have you to fall back on and as long as you tried your best to 'steer' them, you've done all that a good friend can.

I think this is accurate. I've always been of the opinion that the best friends are those that speak the truth, even if it hurts, provided that the truth could be beneficial in the long run. This is context-independent, by the way, so I'm not making any judgements about abortions and the like.

As for that dating profile, it might be the most depressing thing I've seen in a long time: I feel bad for a guy who can't even seem upbeat and positive on a website where that's pretty crucial to being successful. Just fake it if you have to, don't say things like "not many people are into [my hobbies]" or "you're probably thinking I'm a loser" - that has to be the quickest way to demonstrate low personal value and self-belief. I'm pretty sceptical of internet dating as a whole, really, it just seems like a bad signal from both parties from the very beginning.
