I know there was some Black Sabbath Tony Martin appreciation. This song is still so damn good.

Agreed! I liked how the Dio version called itself Heaven and Hell for the tours. Made more sense and let people enjoy the music for what it was. Because of the Black Sabbath name the Tony Martin stuff will always stand in the shadow of the older work.

I can vividly remember the first time I heard Andrew WK. It was around the time that album came out; I was in an AIM chat with some friends, and a few of us had some late night MTV2 video show on, talking shit about the stuff they were playing. "Party Hard" came on, and well, we had no idea what we were watching/hearing, but sort of loved it. I bought the album shortly thereafter, and it surprisingly ended up being a pretty big part of the "soundtrack" of that time in my life. Never would've expected that.

Anyone knows some band like Opeth? I mean, like this song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfOg13qMVqw ...and the whole Morningrise and Orchid albums, that are more black metal albums. Never heard nothing of the kind besides Opeth. |

I guess this would be the place to post, but apparently Jaz Coleman has gone missing :(
http://rock-a-rolla.com/main/?p=3168 Really hope everything is OK, the guy seems really cool from interviews I've read. Plus Killing Joke rule. |

I've always been a huge fan of Zakk. It's become cool amongst the Blabbermouth crowd to talk as much shit about him as humanly possible, but the first two BLS records are still amazing.

Yeah, I had a friend who met him, and said that he was really down to earth, and appreciative of his fans. |

Apparently the rumor of a shooting threat was enough to call the cops out to Summer Slaughter yesterday.....

I just listened to Ozzy's Scream album for the first time. Wow, this is really underwhelming. Another generic rock station anthem, another generic attack on Christianity to sound deep (but still ambiguous enough to still claim to be a Christian himself), another positive message song. It's unfortunate, but from interviews and listens, it's like he's not even himself. Ozzy has no idea what he's doing, what he's singing, why he does this or that. Whoever is pulling his strings has cultivated his image to such an extent that there's no reason to listen.
EDIT: From written serious interviews, he also sounds incredibly bitter and angry, for some reason. |

I've been listening to Sacrificium's Escaping the Stupor (2005) a lot lately and I can't get enough of it. Gotta love that Christian Death Metal. :p
![]() There are quite a few stand out songs on the album but I Am The Enemy is probably one of my favorites. Anyone else ever listen to these guys? Zonaria's Infamy and the Breed (2007) has been a getting a lot of my attention lately as well. I haven't heard their new album yet, anyone have any thoughts on it?

Agreed. I finished it, but never again. And Gus had little to do with the solos, as most were done when he got there. There isn't a single memorable track that you would listen to again, unless you were an obsessive Ozzy fan.

When you say screamo I assume you mean the 2000's metalcore phenomenon? Its not actually screamo. Dont call it hardcore either, because its not. Black flag/ minor threat / bad brains is hardcore, not that stuff. |

Nice. Easily one of my favorite bands. Si Monumentm... is easily my favorite album from them. Heavy, complex, even catchy at times. Not to mention, evil as all hell. \m/

Century Media re-listed their catalogue back on Spotify after almost a year. It fills holes in many discographies and add bands such as Eyehategod, In Flames, SYL, and Vallenfyre back on the service.

he's a goon at it. Still doesn't detract from the rest of the riffing...although I'll have to say that I've lost a lot of interest in them since that last EP.

Anyone heard of Abigail? They are pretty decent IMO.
Death Doom has really been growing on me the past month. |

Dog Days - Via Dolorosa
For fans of Converge, The Black Dahlia Murder(Unhallowed - era) The whole album is great, and although they aren't my favorite songs I think 'Dead Ends' and 'Rain Shadow'/'Sun Shadow' give a good representation of their style. |
