It does have IAP to buy "EXP" to increase some unit powers, but there are also extra side missions in the campaign that give you EXP too.
I loved Total War Battles. Worked my way through the whole game on 4S when it was version 1.0. Then the update came with Skirmish battles. Now just today there's a 1.3 update that brings graphical updates and more challenges.

9/10 from me.

All of them. But don't play them for heaven's sake! This is GAF dude... :)

I think the next game I'm looking forward to is Baldur's Gate, can't wait for that bad boy! I might jump into Squids 2 soon as well, I just finished up the first one last night (three stars all the way bitches!). Squids is really incredible, I feel like it's one of the first of a new breed of games that mix a 'real' game with the traditional phone-style games and succeeds.

Only played 5 mins so far. Brief impressions are that it looks OK, the controls work, there's a shite-rock soundtrack (I consider this a bonus), the day / night cycle is cool (the headlights work on my tractor!) and that's about it. If your little bro just wants to potter around doing a bit of farming, I reckon this'll do fine. I'm a cack reviewer so you might want to read a real review.

I think there's a freeplay mode which will be nice for just tossing about in farm machinery.

It's odd, I think the bigger the backlog, the less likely you are to play anything at all. Instead, downsize a little and actually enjoy the games. I was once like you, I feel your pain :D
But they're just all so cheap :(

Trust me, I know exactly what I SHOULD be doing, but I'm weak. Exact same thing happens every steam sale -sigh-

I just end up going back to my multiplayer boardgames (Carc, nightfall, Ascension, Summoner Wars, Neuroshima Hex) and hardly ever play the other games :p

Also, there'a actual science behind that backlog thing, it's called "The paralysis of choice" :p

I tend to "purchase" free apps, then delete them before they've even finished downloading. 771 apps to date and I've only owned an iOS device since March. I just figure if they're free and they look interesting, I should grab them now in case they go up in price. Maybe I'll play it one day, maybe I won't, but I've got it if I want it.

It's very disappointing to see that Critter Crunch is no longer on the app store. I loved it on PS3 and it would be awesome to have it on my phone. Apparently the publisher went under and the rights are lost in limbo, or something like that. Dang.

I may regret purchasing so many apps, all 771 have disappeared from the purchased section of iTunes on my iPad. I'm wondering if I've hit a bug related to the number of purchases. Has anyone come close to having as many apps?

I should add that these aren't installed, merely purchased and linked to my account.

Update: Looks like it's happening to other folks too, so probably isn't associated with my app purchasing addiction.

What an absolutely bizarre lookin game. Grabbing it right now, but it looks a lot like Earthbound from the screens.

Just picked up an iPad 3 as well, so I'll probably be a regular in this thread again now that I can dump apps on a device other than my phone. Looking forward to Baldur's Gate!

A bit of an off-topic question;

Anyone else facing the issue where nothing is shown on the "Bought" tab in the App Store on the iPad itself? I don't currently have an option to connect my iPad to my PC, and I want to download/try some of the crap I've bought lately.

I'm trying to finish off Beat Sneak Bandit, and I'm missing two achievements, one of which is completing the final boss in a seemingly impossible time. The other one, is Fourtastic, where on Laboratory 10 you have to hit each button at least four times. I've ran overtop each button as much as six times and I cannot get the achievement to register. Tried restarting my phone and doing it, and I still cannot get it. Don't know what the deal is, and saw where people have had issues with their achievements registering, but figured I might be missing something (you don't have to answer the phone four times, do you?).

Yes I had that exact issue. I can't finish the final boss achievement-to me that one seems impossible to accomplish. However for the Fourtastic one-the only way I got that to trigger was to do this-which might not be possible for you unless you have 2 iOS devices.

1. install the game on your second iOS device.
2. delete the game on your second iOS device. It will prompt you to remove the game from GameCenter. Do so...
3. Now return to the device that has your save file on it. When you open it and it connects to GameCenter-the game should do a check to see what you have accomplished and then send those over to GameCenter. When I did this-it finally triggered the Fourtastic achievement.

Good luck-I hate achievement problems and they seem to plaque me on the games I play.

Really sorry about that.
Try to "kill" the app from the multitask thing (double click home button). Start game, replay level (achievement is saved, it just needs to be sent to GC again - hard restarting game should reconnect you to GC).
Hope it works.

Edit: nope, no need to answer the helper phone.
Also, last achievement is doable, but it basically means that you have to use EVERY bomb that appears. And that takes some nerves! :)

The Fourtastic achievement in Beat Sneak Bandit also lagged for me. I did the stage a bunch of times thinking there was something wrong but it eventually registered after a couple of hours.

Final boss achievement is possible but yeah, it's pretty much a perfect run like Ninjagorilla said (he would know lol). You have to memorize the entire thing, make up a strategy and keep retrying until you manage to beat each of his attacks as quickly as possible. I had a timer running on a computer close to me to check if I was still within the required time, but it's not really necessary if you manage to use every bomb.

Ugh, I need a new iDevice. I don't plan on replacing my iPad anytime soon, but 16GB isn't enough. They need the new iPod Touch model to release already. I need 64+ GB.

The sad part is I don't even have any music on my iPad. Just apps.

Actually thinking about it, I think 150 seconds allows for one little mistake (depending on when it's made, sequences towards the end are longer)

Seeing that pic also reminded me of the one Meme reference we've ever made. Usually not a fan of internet meme references in games, but that one was too good to pass up on.
