It's not too late to get into the modeling business if you want to try it out. It just depends on if there's a demand for a particular look or age group, or if you can still pull off a younger look.

Poise, and a good sense of of your body and a smashing smile is what's really important.
Well, I am thirty, native American, and in a rural area, so...not much hope for me now. Also, three kids. I'm not fat, but definitely not the model skinny I was at 18 lol

YOU TRIED IT.

While it may fulfill the wet dreams of the PRESSEDT that Xtina would abuse her child, all you have are pics of a rambunctious young boy with a black eye he got from a FALL while PLAYING in the park. Any assertions to the contrary are absurd ruminations of wannabe fanfic authors.

MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE RANCH, we have RECEIPTS of Britney being a thoughtless mother.

Photoshopping has screwed up a lot of people when it comes to 'beauty'. It makes faces/bodies look too perfect too unrealistic and creates impossible standards. I haven't seen your pic (Full native American? Which tribe are you? ^_^), but I'd say you dodged a bullet. Modeling is dodgy business.

That said, she is looking a bit rough, but she seems like she's been through a lot. I do feel like people saying nastier comments about her should be required to put up their own pictures for scrutiny and nitpicking by the crowd. She's not looking so hot now, but most us aren't that glamorous either.

I actually think photoshopping women makes them look worse. I agree with you that the airbrushed/photoshopped look makes women look like they come from Madame Tussades or whatever.

I think playboy are the worst perpetrators of this. Their glamour shots look absolutely awful and i much prefer a woman with natural beauty then caked on makeup with airbrushed "blemishes" or imperfections.

Imperfections make people real. The world shouldnt want people to look like barbie dolls.

Not full, my mom is white, but I look full. We still aren't sure exactly what tribe because my father was..erm..incredibly shifty, wanted by the FBI, and dead now heh. A very long story heh. Either Cherokee or Navajo is all we really know.

And yeah, after I got some portfolio shots done and was a bit skeeved by some of the people I met in the process, I decided it wasn't worth the stress.

...though I sorta wish I had, because, yay money!

Edit: I dunno though, I get mistaken for Mexican a lot too. Could be the Native American father was bs as well, like most of his crap. So I really have no idea what ethnicity I am. Grew up identifying as NA, othered a bit cause of my looks, ect, so I just continue to indentify as such.

This is so true. Women and men with polished limbs and chiseled faces that look like mannequins look fake and are absolutely forgettable, but a spray of freckles, silly shaped birthmarks or the laugh crinkles in the corner of a guy's eyes... those are real. Those stick in the mind.

Haha. Seems to run in dads, then. I'm 1/8 Apache (not much, I know) from my dad's side. He too is shifty and probably wanted by the authorities. :) I'll have to check out your modeling shot if I can find it. I don't have much claim to that ancestry, but it warms my heart to see it come out in people.

As for the modeling, the money is nice, but as you noted, the company is often not and all the crap you hear that goes on in that world. I wouldn't regret opting out of that.

EDIT: I thought I'd add since the parallels are so funny, that my Dad was also of Mexican mix. I mark Mexican on my stuff because it's what I'm mostly made of, but I am the whitest Mexican you ever did see. :D

TBH she was never attractive. She started with stereotypical "girl next door" look, which is just average by all standards. Add trauma, nervous breakdown, drugs, and there you have it. It also always seemed to me she doesn't care much for her physical fitness, she is not one of those stars that love to sweat in the gym everyday.

On the general topic of photoshoping pics in fashion magazines - I am surprised EU (no way this will happen in the US) didn't force fashion magazines to make a disclaimer on every photo that has been digitally enhanced, same way the do with alcohol and cigarettes advertisements.

Freckles yes, or a japanese girl with one slightly crooked tooth in the corner. Imperfections give personality and keep people grounded.

We blame drugs, but look at Robert Downey Jr. Dude must have done more than most and he's still an incredibly handsome dude.

I think other factors play a much bigger role in certain people looking older than they are, genes is almost certainly one, glucose/insulin resistance (or lack thereof) is also another factor and then then there's the sun factor as well as incredibly hectic schedules.

having said that, I think she looks perfectly fine. Not seeing the problem to be honest.

Well, all due respect to your mom, but she hasn't exactly gone through the same incredibly hectic schedule Britney has and I doubt she's abused her body as much as Britney has either.

It's unfair to compare her to your mom in that regard.

I also don't think she looks 45, mid 30's at most.

We are talking about her face, not her body. I am sure her body is way better than her face. And as you mentioned "abused her body", well not every woman abuses her body, so I will simply call her on that. She would've been way prettier but fucked up in life and this is a result.

And the face is often the first casualty of a poor lifestyle and an incredibly hectic schedule.

Her body is indeed fine, but her face would be the first thing to go as is often the case due to the simple fact that your face is always exposed (same with hands) compared to the rest of your body.

There's always hope.

You don't have to be "model skinny" to get modeling work. There are things like stock photos for business/marketing materials, family lifestyle shots, resort-wear marketed towards middle aged demographics, and what not. Being in rural area would be the largest disadvantage, everything else is not that important.

The JJill line of clothing, for instance, uses a lot of 30-something models.
