No. They contribute some really fascinating things to a thread e.g. Nirolak, EatChildren, and duckroll on the Gaming side and Opiate, Mumei, Stump, and EviLore on the Off-Topic side. It comes with the job; they have to weed out the bad posters that aren't contributing to discussion and keep things moving.
I certainly think that they lurk in controversial threads that tend to get pretty heated with discussions and people taking sides. I think it was Opiate who said that they're not exactly as omniscient as people think since mods are on at different times because of time zone differences but they coordinate pretty well. |

Yes because it's a little different when you are checking peoples posts for tos violations as opposed to just enjoying your stay. It depends on what system is implemented here, things seem quite a bit more relaxed and straight forward (rules and the way people follow them and leniency granted) here since most posters are way more civilized and the free cussing.
Changes your enjoyment a little, I know it did for me back in gamefaq's golden age as a mod. I wont lie and say that I didn't enjoy dropping the ban hammer on people that deserved it though.

I think there's a ton of good posters that could be up for modship if their posts werent so opinionated and less jokey (I know mine are), at least that's what I think going by the people who became mods
then again that never stopped Amir0x from being one so im probably talking out my butt |

I recently went to my friends house to check out his wii. I was generally impressed. It was larger than I expected though.

The only thing that bothers me is that occasionally I am torn between actively participating in a thread and just reading a thread. I usually do end up participating eventually, though. Oh, and I feel slightly more pressure when I post arguments or make serious posts. Other than that, nothing in particular has changed in terms of what topics I read or the posters I interact with.

I don't think they are paid enough. And we all make fun of them behind their backs, except me because I am a nice person who has only been banned twice, both times completely justified. I wouldn't say one bad thing about our mods. They are so smart, and handsome/pretty.

Fuck no, they are gods among ants. They could strike us down at any time without warning. I look up to them the same way I look up to batman, ghandi or john lovitz.
