Bob Dylan - Tempest -out September 10th
#1
![]() Track Listings 1. "Duquesne Whistle" 2. "Soon After Midnight" 3. "Narrow Way" 4. "Long and Wasted Years" 5. "Pay in Blood" 6. "Scarlet Town" 7. "Early Roman Kings" 8. "Tin Angel" 9. "Tempest" 10. "Roll On John" The title track, "Tempest", is a 14 min. epic about the Titanic, that apparently even contains a reference to Leonardo DiCaprio. "Roll on John" is a tribute to John Lennon. Due to the album having a similar name to Shakespeare's last play, many thought this was planned to be Dylan's last album ,but he later denied the rumors. So, anyone looking forward to it? He is one of my all time favorite artist, so I get a little excited for each new release. Even if its bad, it can't be worse than the X-mas album. |

Day 1
All the proceeds went to charity for the Christmas album which makes it a great album in my book. |

Can`t wait Dylan is my favorite musician of all times along with The Beatles.
Modern Times is one of my favorite album. It is so great. Despite how much his voice has changed. Modern Times actually takes advantage of that, and results is a deeper album. I love it so much. |

I'll be grabbing this day one. I bought a bunch of tickets to his show in Edmonton in October, looking forward to it. Knopfler gets a lot of hate but I dig the guy, I still go back to his "Neck an Neck" album he did with Chet Atkins on occasion and I'm far from a country guy, and The Ragpicker's Dream will always be a good album to me.

For anyone new to Bob Dylan, on Netflix, there are two documentaries,
Joan Baez: How Sweet The Sound -some early impressions of Bob Dylan by Joan and others. Good movie of how Joan started and developed. and No Direction Home: Bob Dylan- Martin Scorsese directed this movie. "What about Bob?" you ask. This will give some good background. Both movies have good soundtracks. |

"Love & Theft" and Modern Times were wonderful albums that got strong critical appreciation, but they didn't enter the culture the way they deserved to. I loved the Xmas album (not to mention the best video ever).
Didn't care for Together Through Life, though. "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'" was really good, and I liked a few other tracks, but the rest, eh. Day 1, of course. |

Dylan is definitely my favourite musician of all time, so I'm hyped for this. Going to listen to the album stream tonight, but I'm sure I'll be picking it up day one.
And glad to see people praising some of his more recent albums. I feel like they were critically praised but it still seems like they're over looked. When talking about Dylan, the focus always seems to be on his 60's and 70's material. Understandably I guess. That stuff isn't just good music, it's culturally significant and a big part of music's history. But records like Love and Theft or Time Out of Mind are truly spectacular in my opinion. |

I'll say it: as brilliant as a lot of his albums since, Time Out Of Mind and Oh Mercy are in particular, this is Dylan's best album since Desire.
Tin Angel and Paid In Blood in particular are magnificent songs. |
