Barking dogs reportedly sparked a fight that resulted in a man shooting five rounds at his neighbor Aug. 17. According to police, the altercation started when David George Keats, 73, let his three dogs out at his home on Atlas, in the Maple and Dequindre area, just after 9 p.m. Keats’ 52-year-old neighbor reportedly yelled at Keats’ dogs and kicked the fence in an attempt to quiet their barking. Police said Keats ran toward the victim, yelled, “don’t tell my dogs to shut up” and fired a gun. One round struck the victim in the face, according to reports. The man ran away as Keats reportedly fired four more rounds at him, police said. The condition of the victim was not known at press time. When police arrived on the scene witnesses pointed out the shooter, who sat on his porch with the gun behind him, unloaded, police said. Officers arrested Keats without incident. Keats was arraigned on assault with attempt to murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He appeared without an attorney. He was released on $1 million personal bond. The preliminary exam is set for Aug. 27.

EDIT: Also, I'm not saying that there needs to be gun control per-se, just make sure it's not as easy as "does he have the money to buy the gun." I know there are usually screening processes, so just make that a bit more stringent.

You use a bail bondsman who puts up the money for a fee, usually 10% of the bail. The bondsman gets the money back when you appear in court. If you flee, they send Dog to taze you in to submission.
