This. Sometimes I get nostalgic and want to play some old game or don't feel like the pace of the one I'm currently playing and want something faster or slower or less story. Started trying to keep it to 2, I finish more games this way, but I can't help it. I have little game time so if I'm not immediately entertained I might just play something else.

Balancing 3 at the moment, but I usually will only play 1 game at a time that has a proper story line and campaign. Right now it's Assassin's Creed Brotherhood broken up by Child of Eden and Wipeout HD. Before ACB I was playing MGS4, and before Child of Eden I was playing Flower. Usually it will manifest by playing 20-45 min of the Wipeout/Flower type of game either before or after I sink an hour or two into the ACB/MGS4 type game.
This 'one game at a time' mindset is kind of outdated. Gaming has more variety than that, why limit yourself. Also, maybe it's worth pointing out that none of this involves disc-swapping in between games. Makes everything much easier.

Always. Right now its The Last Story and NSMB2 (along with some Theatrhythm and Pac-Man).
I also tend to start new games while already playing something else, which usually causes me to have tons of games that I've played for 1 or 2 hours and need to get back to. For example, I started the original Darksiders even though I was already playing Final Fantasy VII and haven't touched it again since that first time (with only like 1 hour of play-time). I think I have gaming ADD. Edit: Oh, I forgot I also played through both Walking Dead episodes recently, too. And Sound Shapes. And I'm probably gonna start playing Final Fantasy IX soon too, even though I really should finish The Last Story first...

Oops, I though this was literally at the same time.
Last week, I was playing MGS4 and Mario Kart 64 at the same time I had R1 and L1 taped down on the DS3 while Snake was shooting those little hand only crawling camera things that spawn infinitely on act 5. Then on my CRT I was playing Mario Kart. I was trying to build 500k to buy the tengeshima or whatever that gun is called in MGS4 and I couldn't be bothered sitting there shooting the whole time. |

I have two games literally running at the same time with some frequency(I'll have Orcs Must Die 2 paused while I'm playing Darksiders II, for example). I'm moody and not a completionist, so I will often just arbitrarily decide that I'm bored of a game while I'm in the middle of headbutting a zombie, and I'll be damned if I will play a game I'm not having fun with for any reason.

Hundreds, I'm hardly ever interested in finishing a game, event my favorite ones, unless it is an adventure game or has really interesting progress. Some of my games I could probably keep playing forever.

Yup, but usually one or two of them are racing or rhythm games and I don't really feel a need to plow through those to the end. Also there's PSO2 which will only end when I finally get bored.
In terms of story heavy games I try to keep it down to 2 of those at a time but I might try bumping that up to 4 or 5. |

I thought this was about simultaneously playing two games, which I've done with SRPGs and Pokemon while playing something else.
I like to focus on one single player title at a time, but I tend to sprinkle in some multiplayer or arcady games or games that I can just mindlessly replay in between. I'm playing Wind Waker right now and whenever I feel like I'm slogging through it I refresh myself with some Um Jammer Lammy. TF2 is also a constant in my life regardless of whatever other game I'm playing at the time. |

I'll usually have one on console going, one on PC, and one on handheld. I mean, unless you count things like getting frustrated with Max Payne 3, stopping playing it and playing and beating Lollipop Chainsaw, then going back and finishing Max Payne 3 as playing two games at the same time.

Only if one of them is like a mindless game, like a sports game or a smaller arcade game. I can't have two story based games going at once.

Usually not. Although, if there ever is another instance where I'm playing another game, the second usually isn't story-based (to avoid getting confused). So, I'll might play FFXIII and Left 4 Dead 2 or any other online-type game. Left 4 Dead is the sweetest game to have an affair with.

Just finished Sleeping Dogs, and now Im working on Darksiders II. For multiplayer I usually hop into a BF3, COD4 or TF2 match on PC.
I've also been playing Skyrim off and on, and tried to get back into New Vegas. Usually, I play 2-3 games at a time for about a day, then "man up" and focus on one game till I complete it. |

Could've sworn we had this thread recently, but:
I usually play one multiplayer title as my "main" time-waster. I'm always doing something in GT5 on the side (B-Spec or whatever). I'll play a single-player title on top of that if there's something currently out that I'm interested in. I was playing Darksiders II with GT5 and TF2 on the side for example. |

I usually play three games at once. A primary game which is usually an involved single player game (right now it's Darksiders 2). Then I have a secondary game which is either something I've finished before or something that isn't too involved. For me that's usually a musou game like Dynasty Warriors or a fighting game. Finally whatever I'm playing on my portable systems since I only play those when I'm not at home.

One game per console, not counting the games like TF2 or Mario Kart that I play when I get a spontaneous itch.
But only one game at one time for all my handhelds. Right now it's Xenoblade for Wii, Diablo 3 for PC, and Pokemon Conquest for handheld. I feel like having only one game total is a bit limiting. What if you don't feel like playing it? |

I try too hard and fail.
I think it's ok for me to try to do 1 games per consoles, and 1 handheld game. I play some PS3 (no game atm that I'm focusing on), PS2 (Kingdom Hearts CoM), and 3DS (NSMB2). I WAS playing Pokemon Conquest until NSMB came out and got me sidetracked, I'll get back to Pokemon after I finish NSMB2. |

Normally play one Single Player Game (Currently Darksiders II), One coop Game with the wife (Currently Rayman Origins), and one Handheld game (Currently Heroes of Ruin).
This works out really well for me, granted the Handheld has a distinct role as does the coop Game and the coop takes a while to finish since my wife and I don't get free time to game together very frequently these days. I also picked up both Darksiders II and Sleeping Dogs. I'll save Sleeping Dogs till I finish up Darksiders II :)

If I try to play two games at once, I soon find that I'm playing zero. I don't really know why, but if I try to divide my attention between multiple games, I end up losing interest in all of them. So I just focus on one at a time, and that works out very well for me.

I'll do this, but rarely in similar genres. This gen that's more difficult, since so many RPGs share basic mechanics with shooters, but in general that's how I go. I'll play through an FPS while playing an MMO, or I'll get into a single player RPG while on a TF2 kick. Unless its something that just absorbs me completely and kills my desire to touch anything else, I usually have this sort of thing going on.

So I'm currently playing like 5 games and will likely not finish any of them before I buy new ones. |
