Those don't have to be mutually exclusive things.

You could let draft order be determined by a random generator (even on Yahoo! by creating a fake league with our teams) and just do that step before Draft Day so the draft order is BOTH random AND still pre-determined beforehand.

I was going to bypass the Economy League this year but seeing how The Frankman is signing up I couldn't help renewing for a second go at it.

Plus, I'll have all of Labor Day to prep for the draft.

In other words, if I'm slated to draft 10th through 12th but don't want Gronkowski or Graham, I would try to trade my draft slot to someone with an early pick who will have no chance at landing either one of them and loves those TEs. Or will this be a case of trading like a 4th round and a 5th round pick for an extra pick in the 2nd?

6 teams would keep it competitive so teams don't go belly-up when they're at 500 or below. 4 teams seems a bit more traditional though. Letting half the field in the playoffs doesn't seem right.

In what manner? It looks the same as the NQ4, only difference is FAAB (which I admit is a rather big change) and the Bonus points... which isn't something you can game plan for/around.

Fun Fact: Those six League you're in are more than I've ever done total.

I tried to set the bonus point thresholds pretty high. Good games by your starters will still only get you one extra point. It takes a phenomenal game (200 yards rushing or receiving, 400 yards passing) to get you the maximum 4 points, which I might lower to 3

Re: draft pick trades. From what I'm reading, it looks like the system allows you to offer specific draft pick packages, i.e. a 3rd and a 4th for an extra pick in the 2nd, and stuff like that.

Every year I tell myself I'll cut back and then I wind up breaking my own personal record for fantasy leagues in the final week of August. I think I have a problem. :(

I'm back up to 4 right now. Plan on joining one of the Weekend Confirmed leagues if possible on Friday to get up to 5. And depending on how much money I have left over after Fan Expo this weekend I may attempt to join a 6th (which would be a new personal high).

We've had a separate fantasy football discussion thread the past three seasons for the sole reason that people will invariably want to discuss free agent pickup & drafting scenarios pertaining to their own non-NeoGAF leagues and by discussing them in here you invariably risk tainting the GAF leagues while we use this thread to talk trash and discuss moves/results after they take place.

Would I love to give draft advice or to discuss their lineups right now? Sure!
Will I do it in this thread prior to draft day? Hell no.
Will I discuss hot free agent pickups before our waiver date? Hell no.
Will I recommend start/sit decisions in a realm where it could impact my matchup in one of my GAF leagues? Hell no.

Will I do these things in another thread dedicated to fantasy football for leagues I'm not in? Certainly. The NFL community thread would be fine for this purpose, IMO... EXCEPT for the fact that they loathe fantasy discussion there. In fact, they get pissed off if you actually discuss the game of football.

I see we have 3 divisions for Economy. I only play one division foe twice though. While I play 2 other different division foes twice. Is there a way to change it so I play all the people in my division twice and everyone else once? That would make the most sense since division winners get an automatic slot in the playoffs.

Yeah, I wanted to keep the season interesting for longer. If only 4 get in and 8 go home, some teams are basically eliminated by Week 4.

The question is whether we want to have the playoffs take place during Weeks 14, 15 and 16, or during Weeks 15, 16, and 17. I lean towards the former because of how many playoff teams rest their starters during Week 17. For instance, Aaron Rodgers is almost certain not to play during Week 17, and that wouldn't be fair to a Rodgers owner who rode him to the championship game.
