Youre implication that Ledgers Joker did not have sick sense of humour is quite silly as the movie is full of jokes (the fire truck thats on fire for example). Grant Morrison came up with an explanation for the many wild interpretations of the Joker being the Joker creating new personalities at random but all with a common theme. You can dislike Ledgers Joker all you want but it is true to the character as much as Nicholsons. I mean seriously, Mark Hamills Joker goes through all of these interpretations with in the DCAU, and I would strongly disagree with anyone saying that Hamills Joker was wrong. |

Well I work at a theater and pretty much no one came during the first week due to the shooting in Aurora. Strangely enough, yesterday at the theater I work at people apparently saw someone with a gun and called the cops. People seem to be a bit scared of the theaters at the moment.

I bet you also think the scene where Joker takes out a handgun with a large as shit barrel to take out the batwing is not camp either. those scenes are corny as fuck and ridiculous.

Burton's Joker is camp, simple as that. He's like the dictionary definition or something. |

TDK is King, Batman 89 is Prince (and features a song by Prince lawl), TDKR is the King's disappointing son who will never be King, and Batman and Robin is the court jester.

Apparently that's only true since 2002. So it looks like about as many tickets were sold overall in 1989 as 2012.

Well it was a better Batman outfit. And every kid in America was wearing the same ten Batman tee-shirts. That movie was our Pokemon. As great as the Nolan movies are, you cannot compete with a period where there was not a cartoon network. Once 10 PM came, there was nothing for us kids to enjoy. You went to sleep or you watched F Troop. Home Alone, Batman, we went to those movies 5 to ten times in the theater. Or we watched Cheers and Dallas. We did not have a million different entertainment outlets like kids today have.

I always loved how that scene where he blows up the hospital isn't scripted. Sure, the hospital was scripted to blow up, but Heath had no idea it was going to be a delayed explosion. The way he stays into character and starts spamming the hell out of the detonator button is just perfect.

Personally think it's between BB and TDK for the best suit.
![]() Also, BB is the best batman movie. The first hour of that film is the best origin story told in any comic book movie. And Heath Ledgers Joker is the best Joker.

Chris Nolan is a hack. The new Batman movies were awful. Tim Burton is a god. He made the two best Batman movies ever.
This is about par for the course on GAF. Man, I wish GAF had been around back in 1989. You know people would be shitting all over Batman. That's what you guys do! |

So it doesn't make sense you'd want to be in 1989 and see gaf shit on THOSE current Batman movies since that's what you're doing now? |

Gaf is fickle but I appreciate the Burton films a lot. Returns especially for Christopher muthafuckin Walken and just an amazing overall style.
TDKR was just...a big disappointment for me. A decent film but it could have been great if they put more effort into it. The script felt sloppy for the first hour. A good trilogy for me though. And for the record. Spiderman 1 and 2 >>>> Nolan trilogy, Burton films, X Men movies and whatever comic book films are out there. 2 is the perfect summer comic book blockbuster for me. |

I recently went to my friends house to check out his wii. I was generally impressed. It was larger than I expected though.

One of the things I noticed about TDKR is that there is little to no "fun". DK had Joker so its all good. Catwoman didn't do enough for me. The Burton films were tons of fun.

Not sure what is much more awesome than those penguins. I really like Nolans batman movies too but... The old silly ones I probably liked a tiny bit more, just so dumb and great.

Always baffles me that anyone cares about box office numbers. How can heated debates rise from ticket sales numbers? I could maybe understand if someone wanted a movie to do well for a sequel, or if they wanted the film to make its money back because it deserves to do so, but just doing it for the sake of the number or as if it's two sports teams going against each other is bizarre. It obviously isn't a mark of quality, why does anyone care?
