Saikano Vol 1 - 2 For those unfamiliar a story about a couple that just started dating however Chise is forced to become a weapon that defends mankind. Shuji and Chise struggle to endure and cope with the developments It's a tragic tale that constantly shifts between "normal life" and "reality" with just a rays of sweetness scattered in between. I'm really fond of the story so far even if it's melodramatic and melancholic.

I bought this on a whim such a long time ago only based on the cover (which is really good imo).
OMG it's the slowest thing I've read this side of Bleach.
I can't express how much I hate this thing.
I pride myself in having the broadest possible test but this I don't know why I hate with a passion.
Then again it was like 10 years ago, maybe there's something there I missed...

Seinen has always been my true home but I was led astray.

Current for me is seinen > josie > shounen = shoujo

Yamada and Nisekoi have boosted shounen for me. Shoujo is way down due to lack of releases and everything is re-treading.

I'm just going by what I have read so far. Admittedly I haven't read some of the popular ones like High School Debut, Oresama Teacher, and so on, but I'm planning on fixing that at one point in the future.

Nah, shoujo has "some" good stuff. It's just that I've lost interest in most of the currently running stuff. Stuff like Maid-sama is on fumes and KnT on molasses. I don't even know what Daisy is doing...and Oresama Teacher is still doing intro new character arcs. Snow White with Red Hair is also in some soft spot not doing much and I'm bored with Arcana's bullshit.

Still have to go with Ao Haru Ride though since Kou is so dreamy. How he hates everything and all. /swoon

You shouldn't continue Gantz because it's a repetitive boring nonsensical action series that goes nowhere.

The only bloody over the top violent seinen manga that I can stomach is stuff by Jiro Matsumoto. He wrote an entire one volume manga about sex, rape, murder and other brutal shit and I was able to read it fine. Dude has a talent.

While action seinen is typically more violent then shounen, it's still a limited portion; same with shounen. I lean more towards SoL and drama. Like Planetes, AGBTS, Mushishi, etc... So good.

When it comes to seinen, I prefer slice of life/comedy yeah. I love Punpun, Saint Young Men, Detroit Metal City, Shin Chan...
And like Glass Rebel, I take everything shonen has to offer. Don't really like fan service though. Yamada is the most I can handle.
