OMG it's the slowest thing I've read this side of Bleach. I can't express how much I hate this thing. I pride myself in having the broadest possible test but this I don't know why I hate with a passion. Then again it was like 10 years ago, maybe there's something there I missed... Oh and it wasn't that cover at all e: after a lil bit of searching...yes it was....

It's supposed to be the top 10 most read. Not top 10 most read according to shounen is the bestest over the restest.
I'm now aligned with seinen gaf anyway. The only way you guys can win is with underhand tactics. Obvious ones at that just like your plot-lines. ;) |

Pretty good taste on both side.
Black marks though, males like Naruto and girls like bleach. |

I can't believe Nisekoi isn't popular with females. Shocking.

Current for me is seinen > josie > shounen = shoujo Yamada and Nisekoi have boosted shounen for me. Shoujo is way down due to lack of releases and everything is re-treading. It feels stale right now and I haven't found a hidden gem in forever. |

I'm just going by what I have read so far. Admittedly I haven't read some of the popular ones like High School Debut, Oresama Teacher, and so on, but I'm planning on fixing that at one point in the future.

My preference is whatever sounds interesting. Failure to care at the genre.
I hate rankings and decisions, basically! Just do it all! |

There is only Team Seinen anyway. Shounen is just the stuff you read between the important releases....

Still have to go with Ao Haru Ride though since Kou is so dreamy. How he hates everything and all. /swoon I subscribe to this but must pick an allegiance. Otherwise I will have no enemies. Yep, only the 4 of us up in here. |

I don't really like bloody seinens either. I read some volumes of Gantz but I don't know if I'd like to continue...
I Am a Hero is fine though. And I'm not interested into reading smut mangas.

The only bloody over the top violent seinen manga that I can stomach is stuff by Jiro Matsumoto. He wrote an entire one volume manga about sex, rape, murder and other brutal shit and I was able to read it fine. Dude has a talent.

What is with "bloody seinen?" I think Berserk is controlling some minds.
And before this gets out of hand, what is being described is not the magazine demo discussion but the theme one. You know, seinen = mature, etc... Otherwise I would just point to Iris Zero and blow the bridge out of this. |

Yeah, seinen is more about the themes involved rather than level of bloodshed.

Sanctuary, Berserk, Vagabond, Blame!, Pluto (which I prefer to Monster), Planetes, Vinland Saga, Historie...
but I genuinely like One Piece and Magi! Name some of yours, friend.

Yea but there are some serious adult themes man. K-On is deep.
Team seinen has to be tsundere about liking the big 3 though. It's the first line on the creed. While action seinen is typically more violent then shounen, it's still a limited portion; same with shounen. I lean more towards SoL and drama. Like Planetes, AGBTS, Mushishi, etc... So good. PS: Beam, stop spelling seinen wrong. You're making my eyes freak out and it sounds like your talking about DBZ. |

When it comes to seinen, I prefer slice of life/comedy yeah. I love Punpun, Saint Young Men, Detroit Metal City, Shin Chan...
And like Glass Rebel, I take everything shonen has to offer. Don't really like fan service though. Yamada is the most I can handle.

The thing is, I'm very picky with Seinen but if I like it, I really really like it. The characters and themes have to resonate well with me since they're mostly slower paced and let you soak in the manga's world instead of showing you setpiece after setpiece. Of course, I have a weak spot for fighting scenes but I prefer the mystery/thriller type of Seinen.
Shounen on the other hand... just throw them shits at me, I'll read almost anything unless it has excessive fanservice. |

I'll read every shounen if I could. I'm more picky with josei, shoujo and seinen. It must be because I haven't much of them. |

And while we're talking about Seinen, I really need to catch up with A Bride's Story, Real and finish Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer :(

99% of all manga worth reading are Seinen/Josei. Almost everything else is formula fiction bullshit.

I'm not sure whether I should ask for Josei recommendations. I don't want to disappoint people because I usually end up checking only one of the many suggestions out.
