Yep. I believe the last time this happened, they were allowed to adopt the highway and eventually lost it because they didn't actually clean it up. I expect the same here.

They can't though. Total disclaimer, I'm an ACLU member, donate monthly and support them 1000% They have to back rights violations like this.

When a friend or someone I know calls me out as hate speech supporter because of incidents like this, I always say: I support the right of the KKK to march and have free speech. I also support the right of everyone else to shout them down.

Not really a rights violation--around here at the very least, the KKK is known for adopting highways and then not living up to their side of the contract--they just want their names on signs along the highway. There's definite pretext to bar them on that.

ACLU needs to give the 2nd Amendment some more attention...though some of the state ones do.

When is the last time that the KKK actually lynched someone or behaved violently as an institution? This isn't a completely rhetorical question. I don't know the answer.

During most of the 20th century it would have been fair to call the KKK a terrorist organization, among other labels. Now it's probably better to think of it as a social club for racist dicks.

How would your suggestion accomplish that goal? They should receive no special treatment, good or bad, if ACLU wants to stick up for its principles. I suspect - I hope - they are another faceless client as far as the ACLU is concerned.

The second amendment is nowhere near as unequivocal as the first. It was ratified faulty.
