The clutter is the main reason I've gone digital - plus it's really nice to have it on my tablet and be able to read whenever I want.

I like it physical ;)

Seriously though, I like owning stuff and looking at it on my shelves.

Me too, but since moving back home and having a tiny room between me and the other half - space is a valuable commodity. :(

The only series I've found enjoyable that deserve its success lately is Saga (40k).

It's infuriating to watch a book I enjoyed JLI (30+k) get canceled while garbage like I, Vampire (13k) is still getting made.

Just my thoughts. Mean no offense. I'd like this "club" to not stigmatize Super books.
For me it's not as much superhero books as it is big 2, which just happens to be mostly superheroes. A combination of higher prices, pointless events, hard deadlines for creative teams, and "runs" that end up being mostly meaningless in the long term is why I stay away unless character loyalty or an especially acclaimed book. Most superhero books seem like a clusterfuck to me since they've exhausted the character and possible interesting stories over several decades.

Considering the work being done by Parker or Hickman or Aaron or Fraction or Remender, I find it hard to believe they've run out of "interesting stories".

Sure, there will be a handful of gems but most capes I pick up are just rehashes of situations we've already seen before. They have a lot of limitations in what they can do and how they can effect a character's future.

Yeah, I'm burned out with superhero. With the same old repeated themes, I just enjoy the variety and creativity of other comics more now. I'll never completely give up on superhero because it's good for some action escapism, but the convoluted universes and melodramatic soap opera crap that is happening in ongoings now is just not for me anymore.

I've got some buddies with a bunch of older superhero that I can read so I'm not buying much DC and Marvel right now.

Self contained stories of heroes once in while would be fine. I would like to collectively hear Gaf's opinion on Batman: Year One and New Frontier.

Having just read the Court of Owls Batman arc, I'd love to include that at some point too.

I like how it's in black and white. I really wasn't expecting that but after reading The Underwater Welder I am a fan.

I'll participate, but can we do something a bit different too? Can there be like a book from my list that GAF can choose and i have to read it?

We all know what's going to win! I Kill Giant shall be the winner unless OP gets sent a bunch of money to make it something else.

OK, I just skimmed the thread for votes, as it's completely obvious what won, but here are the results:

100 Bullets - 2 votes
V for Vendetta - 6 votes
I Kill Giants - 28 votes

I really didn't think it would be so one-sided, and I kinda thought V for Vendetta would win, to be honest!

I'm extremely pumped to read I Kill Giants. Will make the topic now, you crazy cats!

Scalped Spoilers: It's funny that Red Crow and Carol ended up being the most respectable of the main characters (left alive) when that series wrapped up.

I would imagine that most of Comics GAF has read V for Vendetta at some point. I know that I voted for I Kill Giants because it was the only one I hadn't read. The other two are excellent books though. You should mix them in as choices in a future month.
