The article is not so much about Geoff Keighley as how the lines between journalists and PR have become so blurred that it means impartiality will always be called into question.
Games journalism is a circle jerk. Friends with PR, friends with other journalists, friends with developers. |

To be fair Keighley has written some really good stuff.
But that doesn't excuse shit like promising every single year than the VGAs will be better and they've heard and taken into account criticism about the show. I don't even blame him for the VGAs being shit, God knows they'd make it the way they want to with or without him, but lending his name to it and publicly backing it every year just makes him a joke. |
