I haven't posted any impressions yet for fear of the ban stick. But if anyone wants to know anything I will be happy to just take PMs about it or you can ask for my AIM on PM and then I'll tell you about the game while I make next week's magazine tomorrow at work.

What I will say -- is that I loved the first game, problems and all. I played it for hundreds of hours in LAN and countless times in single player. I've been playing Halo 2 for much of tonight (since 2:00 a.m. Est when I bought the game) -- whether it's walking around a familiar multiplayer map or enountering an enemy which will remain nameless here -- the experience is excellent thus far.
Now bed. PM me with AIM handles if people want impressions or if you have the game PM me your XBL tag and we can run around late tomorrow night (10ish EST).

Thats not my point. Most all retail stores i know of that are getting the game early (most all of them) had to sign a nice long MS contract. Someone is gonna have to step up and take one for the team.

How does the actual game disc fit in the case? Did they just stick the two discs on top of each other or something? I don't see any additional disc holder in there...

Microsoft NZ have forced videogame store staff to sign individual contracts stating it wont be sold until midnight the 9th. Break the date = serious misconduct = instant sacking.

I had to sign a contract yesterday. Very amusing, and no, I have no intention of breaking the street date.
