First Footage of The Last Remnant Tonight on Game Head on SpikeTV
#1
Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up that the first-ever footage of Square-Enix's The Last Remnant will be on Game Head tonight on SpikeTV at 1AM. When we cut the package together we tried to squeeze in every second of the game that we could. Enjoy!

The trailer presumably got leaked (it's not up on Disney's own website), Disney cracked down on it, hence why it's not out there on the Net (well, there's probably a Rapidshare/Megaupload/whatever link out there they haven't caught but probably not). That's got nothing to do with fair use of the footage; it's about a publicity campaign being screwed up a little and Disney taking steps to remove it. Squenix and SpikeTV probably have an exclusive agreement for the footage to be shown exclusively on telly; getting the word out raises publicity for SpikeTV, and potentially gets more people interest in The Last Remnant. If the footage goes out all over the Net, why would anyone bother watching Game Head? Info getting leaked spoils their announcements and marketing. Again, it's publicity, not fair use; if the footage goes up without Squenix's permission, then they can pull it for unauthorised usage. |

As for why they wouldn't want to show the game off in HD instead of letting crappy user videos capped from a DVR circulate around really isn't my place, or anyone else's, to ask. It's just the way it is. When you're dealing with a company's IP, they make the rules. We just have to play by them. |
