To be fair I'd be surprised if both UI's weren't drastically different by this time next year.Originally Posted by Omnistalgic

I'll still pick up fairly early in there life cycles, but there's nothing like being there day one and seeing the changes...

I love Nintendo's stuff, a hole in my heart will form if they ever exit the industry, but what seems like a combined marketing agenda for WiiU (Really I don't mind it that much, has some pretty great games coming out) feels slightly unfair, simply because it puts other platforms in the dark while promoting the WiiU as the greater alternative instead of on its own merits. Nintendo had a really slow start after launch, a trend that neither PS4 or X1 looks to have. While neither launches are reinventing the wheel in innovative titles, there's plenty to play and some unique experiences already on next-gen platforms, along with all the potential early adopters get to see from the UI, OS, controller, and new graphical limits.
So, while I do hope more people pay attention to gaming, and experience some of Nintendo's latest, I have to thank early adopters for waiting in the cold, for hours, to put in there hard earned cash, and bring home a system just to be locked out of online play when they first get home and plug it in lol...
You guys are the ones that Call Sony and MS and complain about defective units, borked systems, network outages, supply demand, glitches, and the like. Because of you, records are broken, information is exchanged. Early adopters gave us proof that MS isn't as silly as there early PR suggest, and Voice commands can actually be cool. Early adopters showed us Knack is actually a pretty fun title, and in no way comparable to the other games receiving similar grades from these so-called gaming critics. Early adopters made us use twitch for the first time, showed us the future of our gaming living room setups, and they bear the brunt of perhaps being one of the unfortunate 1%.
Not everyone has all the disposable income to get every platform that releases. If not for early adopters to show us the way to our preference of gaming then who? The gaming media??! Thank goodness that is not the case.
Here's to early adopters!!!
For lighting the flames for a next-generation!!!
WOOOOSAAAAI
KI and Knack are awesome, BTW.
tks man...no long discussion was necessary, just wanted users to know I appreciate all the updates and posts on next-gen. GAF has helped me out with TV purchases, games not on my radar, and it's the same for next-gen. So many users in one place has it's benefits.Originally Posted by xemumanic
