we are.
The HUB food is overpriced and the chik-fil-a i feel like is kept in warmers far too long. Nothing beats the food in west though. Kinda bummed i don't have a meal plan anymore.
I just go grab something to a place near the college even if it's more expensive.
and the sauce dispensers were like fucking beer pulls. unlimited HP sauce. oh my god
I rarely ate the actual cafeteria food except for the burritos because they loaded them up.
In the 2 years I lived off-campus I can count on one hand the amount of times I ate on-campus.
One of my friends went to this private school that basically had an Outback in their student union. It wasn't named that but they served all the same shit and it stayed open until 3am. And there were legit arcade games in there. And they let us drink in there. It was the place to be once parties let out. They also could use their meal plans at places around town to.
I'm so lazy that I refuse to leave campus and walk a block in this cold.No point in buying food at my school unless you have a meal plan. There's so many other places outside of campus you can go to that are a lot better and cheaper (especially being in NYC).
I only go to the express cafe that we have for snacks/drinks when I don't want to leave campus.
Everything's expensive, so I just grab a slice of pizza. Three days a week. :C
The food is better than it was before, but it's still mediocre. I don't think it's that bad though, but I'm easy to please.I went to UAlbany (and still do technically, but no longer have to eat there). Awful awful awful. We were towards the top of the list for worst food. I got sick multiple times. We have since gotten a new food vendor, so I cant comment on it now, but it is all the same employees.
I am not a huge picky eater, though. And my parents paid for it, so I was your typical spoiled little bastard and price didn't factor in.
My university had Sodexho too, and I hated it so much. There were rare times when the cafeteria had kick-ass food, but for the most part, the food was rubbish.Originally Posted by Clydefrog
pretty sure this company did all of the food at my school. after two years of living in the dorms, I got so damn sick of their food.
we had a main cafeteria and a few little restaurant-type choices.
I liked the one restaurant that served chicken strips. When your order was ready, the lady would yell out "CHICKEN STRIPS" just like the German lady in Austin Powers.
On the plus side, it taught me to be pretty tolerant of food. This food was made from rat meat? Eh, if it tastes fine then I don't care.
Thankfully, I moved off campus and don't have to put up with how awful the food is.
Most nights, the cafeteria stops cooking food an hour or more before they're supposed to close. Cereal would be the only thing left.
They have a food court at the center of campus with a Chick-Fil-A, a Quiznos, and some other stuff. That's the only decent food.
Oh yeah, for sure. There are some students who are forced to buy University food credit in order to get into residency, so I mingled with a lot of them. Took me 4 - 5 years before I started appreciating the food served within the campus.Originally Posted by SystemBug
if you're in downtown you can find so many other restaurants around. Only thing I miss going to school in Toronto was the food places.
Downtown Food is godsend. Doner Kebab, Chipotle, Korean BBQ, Caribbean Queen, Yueh Tung, Popeyes, Georges BBQ, Subway, BK, Paramount, and so many more!
We do have a Pizza Hut, Panda Express, Chick Fil-A, Subway and Starbucks inside the student commons. A 2 minute walk from the commons gets you places like Pie Five, Smiling Moose Deli, and a taco shop along with a bar and a few other stores. Then over at the fine arts building was an Einstein bagels.
It's pretty much the people on campus housing who eat the cafeteria food as their housing comes with a meal plan.
I went out to eat a lot. Meal plan was a waste of $
Pratt Institute and Cornell are good from my experience.
We are! :)Originally Posted by Im a Manatee

West is definitely the best. Other than that I have an addiction to Panda Express :p
Wow, that sounds pretty awesome. When I graduated in 2006, there was the Chick-Fil-A in the Student Union, along with Pollo Tropical, BK, and Pizza Hut I think. There weren't any Starbucks stores on campus. The dining halls were just as you mentioned, but there was a buffet in the stadium that was pretty fucking awesome. You'd always bump into the football team there, too.Originally Posted by StrikerObi
FSU here. I think the food is quite good, but I'm not a student anymore (I work here now). The food service has improved drastically since I enrolled in 2002. We switched providers in 2003 which was a nice improvement, but now it's really good. On campus we have a 24-hour Denny's, a Chili's, a few Starbucks locations, a newly opened Chick-Fil-A, and a bunch of other stuff.
Our two dining halls make good food, though if you are a student here you will eventually tire of them towards the end of each semester, as they can only make so many different items. From what I understand, the service provider (Aramark) brings prospective clients here to show them how good university food service can be, which says to me that we must have one of the better setups in the nation.
I haven't been back since 2006, but I'm planning a trip in February. I'm mostly excited about hitting up Momo's Pizza and hopefully picking up a bunch of national champion gear!
I still eat there.
Except one time they had boba tea and the boba was hard and inedible.
