Why did they go with rolling starts again, are all races like that?
Is it a performance issue or just a lazy way of making the game a bit more difficult?
Jezus fuck. I was looking at the real-life footage and thought it looked shit compared to the game. Then i realised it was the other way around.Crazy. Even the detail on the side mound cliff is spot on, and shadows are rendered where they're supposed to be.
Man, i'm now fully expecting Epic stuff from GT7 on PS4.
The detail here is insane.
I read somewhere that it's a performance issue, i.e. the frame rate plummets when all the cars on the grid drop tire smoke at the same time. No idea if that's true or not. Also, lower powered cars and AWD cars generally wouldn't do that, but I digress. I actually probably prefer rolling start to be honest, but I feel for people who prefer the other way (or to at least have the option).Originally Posted by drugstore_cowboy

It also includes these:
15th Anniversary Cars (20)
15th Anniversary Racing Suit and Helmet
1 Million Credits

New opening is tedious as fuck. It's been like that ever since gt4...
Where are the days where one of the best things about GT was it's opening intro?

Even still, GT6 is so good.

Japanese GT5 intro is basically perfect.
It's definitely much better than the US and EU version with the absolutely terrible My Chemical Romance song.I feel like I am taking crazy pills!

And seeing how MOTC isn't even in the Japanese intro, the thread title is even more idiotic.
People are reporting how the actual 1.01 update brings changes within actual 1.00 game-structure. There are some changes noted so far over the GTPlanet:
- new career events (Freshman Cup added to National B mode and some others)
- Licenses times have been updated
- Apparently Goodwood Special Events have now issued a prize-cars as well for golding the challenges
Maybe other things have probably been changed as well, so I will be doing a fresh-start for myself and start everything from the beginning (deleting my GT6 Save File from the XMB and start fresh).
Notice how the 1.00 version is an October code that was issued for the traslation, final testings and such, so many things have changed in past 40+ days.
How much wrong can you put into a single post? The GT5 intro song was great, people quite literally hated it before they heard it. If the same song was released by some indie band I am sure you would have loved it.Originally Posted by brotkasten

And the thread title being idiotic? I'd like to see you try to justify that statement.
Is there a way to play GT6 on PS3 using PS4 controller? Would be great!
Shorter times now? Because licenses tests were very easy.FOR ALL PEOPLE THAT STARTED PLAYING 1.00 VERSION PRIOR TO THE 1.01 UPDATE:

Good thing I stopped playing it and waited for the patch.
I HAVE to ask... is there a pattern to your avatar changes..? once a month..? everytime you get a new girlfriend..? please tell me..Originally Posted by SolidSnakex
Sadly no unless PD patches it. It seems to be linked to the PS3 controller having analog face buttons while the PS4 controller doesn't.
Can someone ease my worrying?
In GT5 the cars start to get slowly when you got a lot of damage... some times the car didn't run anymore... some time I did for fun and the car didn't got over 20mph anymore :DOriginally Posted by The Stealth Fox
Still no mechanical damage.... Grr...
I don't know that can be called mechanical damage.
Well I guess each to their own, but from a 'sim' perspective, and maybe even just a 'car enthusiast' perspective, I think you're missing the point somewhat, or at least your priorities are very different from mine.Originally Posted by Slackbladder
I like the immersion that comes with a full cockpit, particularly in night races. I never raced a standard car in GT5 simply because they had no cockpits just weird silhouetted cockpits. It's not like there won't be other cars with the same (or better) performance than the Mercedes Vision GT but if it was only deigned to be looked at then that is what I'll do, look at it and not race it.
For me, car selection is about the unique characteristics of each vehicle. It is not just about raw performance figures, it's the overall handling that the physics guys at PD work so hard to get right.
In the case of the Vision GT, it's not a real car and therefore the characteristics would be based on a lot of estimated data, so it's understandable that it could be one to avoid (not because it has no interior).
But to dismiss/avoid all the Standard cars due to a lack of modelled interior is to miss out on the majority of the game's content. If you believe that you are getting the same driving experience from picking a Premium car with similar performance, then you are mistaken (unless we're talking about a variant of the same model that appears both in Standard and Premium forms) - you are missing out on the unique driving characteristics of most of the cars in the game.
For me, the cockpit view is about having the correct perspective, to feel like I'm sat in the car as I drive, with the correct eye line, etc. It's why people complained about the stupid hood cam before this cockpit view was available in all cars - the hood cam should have been a substitute for a cockpit view on Standards - but the eye line was wrong (too high). In cockpit view, I can get a better feel for the behaviour of the car, and place it more accurately on the track. Interior modelling is nice, but it is simply eye candy that has no effect on my ability to drive the car, whereas the actual view makes the difference.
I totally agree with this point. IMO some of the standard cars in GT5 were the BEST cars considering their unique (and challenging) handling. The Ruf BTR, for example, was an absolute pleasure to slide around corners... it also operated on a razor edge and was very easy to tank into a corner. The satisfaction of getting a clean PR on the Nordschleife always put a smile on my face an resulted in watching the entire replay to check out the epic drifts and moments on the absolute edge of traction. I found no premium car that gave me the same joy.For me, car selection is about the unique characteristics of each vehicle. It is not just about raw performance figures, it's the overall handling that the physics guys at PD work so hard to get right.
