Videogamer Podcast

Anyone have a list of games they've played through on stream?

Making my way through Demon's Souls Pants Man, then intend to do Dark Souls and Shadow of the Colossus.

Also, can anyone recommend some highlights from their video output? Thanks :)

Recommend all the reviewsicals, most of Matt's videos (especially his more serious ones)

All the Yir Auld Da ones are brilliant (the E3 one in particular)

The VG vs of Nidhogg/Mario Kart/Gang Beasts/hidden in plain sight/trials/fifa are all good too.

Man between twitter and the podcast they don't half obsess about GAF nowadays. Despite obviously posting on here I always find it a bit weird when press get that bothered by what people on forums say.

I think Jim had a Twitter meltdown tonight. Hope he's ok. He and the guys on the site need to focus a bit less on the negativity they see and just focus on being funny.

It's a shame generally sites can get positive responses but because some random fudd goes off on one on Twitter they completely lose it. I suppose they are just human after all. Hope jim's alright.

Where is this negativity coming from?

Still making my way through the podcasts. Lost it when Simon was pretending to be Tom, and when he made up the story about contemplating suicide on the bus.

I still love the 'Tom Orry Minute' segments from some of the really old podcasts. The 'oh god' at the end of the jingle makes me laugh every time.

Twitter mainly I think. Someone annoyed he wasn't just doing Tam Mcgleish videos by the sounds of it.

Ah, that's too bad. I only discovered Jim through Videogamer, so I don't know his old content.

He's definitely one of my favorite members, though.

What episodes were these?

Also, dunno how I feel about the Patreon episodes. Before, the babble at the end was mostly just off on a massive tangent which was what made it so brilliant. Now it just seems they stop themselves at a certain time and call that the 'end' and then just carry on with the same stuff afterwards. Which is fine, but ya know.

I'm backing them on Patreon, but I'm not a fan of how they're handling it at all.

I really don't think most of us backers are doing it for "exclusive content" or anything like that. We just want to support them and get more interesting content.

Maybe it's just me, since I hate paywalls of all kinds, but it sucks that the extra content is not just available to everyone.

i don't watch a huge amount of their stuff, but the ex IGN chaps (Moriarty and whatsisface) handle it alreet I think

releases earlier for patreons then made available to everyone else a week later (i think do correct me if i'm wrong)

your second point is bang on. it being available to everyone wouldn't cheese the patreons off (i assume), they see it a week early and means the time they put into making these vids sees a wider audience

Yeah, early release is fine. Maybe some other benefits like elevated priority when it comes to Q&A stuff or something. They make hilarious content and I want it to be appreciated more widely.

Oh well, they just started this Patreon thing. I'm sure they'll figure out what makes the most sense for them as time goes on.

Err, what happened with Simon?

Just caught up to the podcast where they talk about him leaving Videgamer, then got sad, then remembered that he was in a (brilliant) Bloodborne video just a few days ago

No posts for a while, just gonna say the Miller Report videos have been some of their best for a good long while

Had me chuckling for ages

Loving the Miller report. The framerate debate is one of the best videos they've ever done. It's a shame this thread isn't active as it could be, hidden away in community.

Well at least they have a good reason to bring up Wolfenstein again. Hope Dave's on the podcast this week as it tends to be a bit more light hearted when he's on rather than obsessing about what people have said in the comments to annoy them or Burns playing up his Uber Bastard/Troll persona.

Miller reports that I've seen so far have been great. You can bet that if the developers weren't there playing along with the joke that a lot of people would take it all seriously.

Miller report is definitely some good stuff. Too bad that Piss Morning was so tough to produce for them. Those videos were hilarious.

i'm glad the miller report has turned into something regular, they need to make piss morning something monthly if its that hard to produce.

Think the idea is to spin off all the segments from piss morning into their own thing like The Miller Report which i'm totally fine with

Also interested to see who reviews Witcher 3. That series ain't for everyone and can totally understand people's trepidation towards it.

Spoiler Alert: I'm on the podcast next week (May 19th). Not 100% certain what the general structure of my slot will be, but I know the specialist topic I'm bringing to the table will set half the internet on me. ;)

Ha that's awesome.

What were the VG folk like? Was Simon so huge he blotted out the sun

I'm actually recording on the day itself, but I imagine that's going to be the case :D

I'll make sure not to mention the frame-rate of day-one DLC for indie games though. He might launch me out of the window like he did the Kinect.

so good

Dave/Burns n them bang on, the hyper-wank fest for Need for Speed is unreal. Hours after Witcher showed what happens in AAA development with vertical slices. Also love they are rebooting Need For Speed. It's a yearly driving game, not the Godfather.

E3 is the rotten heart at the centre of this whole mess tho. Dripping with excess and wealth purely to engorge gamers with logos, CGI trailers and vertical slices of far off games which will look nothing like the finished products. Just to fuel pre order culture. And then everyone moans about developers lying. No, they only made that slice of the game for you because marketing/PR demanded it. Same people who'll get on the chuffing embarrassing E3 hype train images I bet.

So dumb.

Just posting here to say I love Videogamer (not in a gay way)
Miller report is brilliant.
They are the only gaming media I believe now as I honestly believe they aren't paid off like the rest of the media seem to be.

I also think they should go to town on write to reply and call out the idiots rather than just laughing at them. Although miller does seem to do that a bit.

I still miss the quizcast of olde, with Neon, Wes, Seb, and Tom (also, occasionally, James Orry)

Me too, its a shame that Neon seems to have dissapeared completely. I know he went freelance and has interests well outwith gaming but i enjoyed him on VG a great deal. He just seemed to lose interest when most of the old crew left.

Why don't they do Let's Plays any more? I get that they have other stuff to do, but they I loved the SotC and Dead Rising 3 ones, and not sure we've had anything like hem since.

Kinda wish they'd upload the unedited videos of the Burns Unit stuff as well

Shame to see that. Says he's off next month but not confirmed where.

Be interesting to see what the new person will be like. Be hard to find someone that fits in with the mixture of normal and madness they normally output.

I love the bits of video where they cut to Brett just standing there like an idiot. Especially the Kitchen video where he's dancing in his Hawaiian shirt
