I often wonder if Japanese media would be more popular if it's western exposure was handle bettered then "LoL look at this weird shit"

There was a time when your first exposure to anime was either Ninja Scroll or Sailor Moon. There was no inbetween

I completely agree.

On the Anime front, Manga released Urotsukidōji right after Akira.
So when people thought you like anime (which over were called "Manga cartoons") they thought you liked fucked up porn.

Tier offices even got raided by the police for obscenity because of it.

In the same breath, Manga created the anime market and killed it.

It really should. They completely fucked it.

Over here when Guyver was first released it was £15 for a single episode per cassette. Which were released every month or so. (the gap might have been even longer, it's been a while)

Uff, that's expensive. I remember paying that for three episodes per cassette. Poor Guyver team. They tried to jump in late on the Silver Fang hype by marketing like the best since but people didn't bite here.

That takes me back. Did any of y'all ever watch Venus Wars back then? That shit along with Akira, Ninja Scroll, and Project A-ko blew my little kid mind. I haven't seen any of those except Akira since I was little and they probably don't hold up at all these days.

Yeah man just two more places, first half of August I'll be going to Aussieland, and then Thailand following right after. That'll end my three month vacay to get back to that September grind.

Unfortunately it won't get the headlines because of everything that's going on. That and most don't believe it'll happen. Wasn't there a push to remove coverage for trans soldiers that got shot down recently? Seems like a barrage of this is happening and it's just grandstanding for the Bible belt vote.

Do you know if any organizations have reached out about this not being reported on? Not saying they should have to.
