I just don't believe it. Obama's terms along with Fox News are defining moments in life for me because it completely changed how my parents viewed higher education, homosexuality and cemented their hate for anything that isn't White America, which was important to me because I was both going off to college and finding myself, and later more important as I met people from different backgrounds and stuff. My dad in particular was very fond of Glenn Beck and the way they started to perceive higher education was as some type of honey pot used by liberals to further enslave people into their agenda unwittingly by brainwashing. They definitely weren't about to pay for it so I took out a shit ton of loans. Homosexuals were the same way, on campus they would target straight guys and trick them into having sex and becoming gay instead of remaining straight (he's convinced this is what happened to me when I explored my sexuality, anytime I've talked to him about the guy I dated he always tries to find angles of him tricking me and I not being aware). That's not even to say that Obama was a Kenyan Muslim whose parents were crackheads, Michelle was a man because Obama was actually a gay man, etc. That shit was as toxic then as ever, it may be less now that so many people are gone.

Hannity's not lasting long. Fox is still spinning from booting their favorite sexual predator O'Reilly and several high-profile people are jumping ship. And their biggest personality at this point is a fucking nutjob peddling alt-right conspiracy theories on cable news? Advertisers are gonna start pulling the plug on his program soon enough.
At this point I'm going to assume he's actively trying to get fired, there's no way he thinks the higher ups at Fox are pleased with that direction.
Hannity would get destroyed by the press on a daily basis. He built up his persona through a highly curated, protected environment where he picks the guests, has shitty arguments pre-made for him, and can easily be bailed out by commercials, cutting out mics, etc. And he can't do stupid shit like pulling a gun on someone at the commercial break as Press Secretary.

And I'm saying that it wasn't just Fox News that made your parents the way they are now. It was other shit as well such as fake news on social media.
Also, part of it is that Pre-Trump, fox was somewhat subtle with their propaganda in certain ways compared to today. Today they are LITERALLY claiming that all other media is part of some grand conspiracy against Trump. Back before Trump, they would at most say that the other media "leans left" or use the phrase "mainstream media" as a dogwhistle.
