Nope. The part that looked like it might have been a 7 is actually the bottom of ".jpg" The letters jpg don't continue in the rotation of the circle.

The guy running the script has it set to compile and basically decrypt it then upload it to dropbox automatically. So all people have to do is log on for the img to update. I'm still not sure how the geocache determines where to light up what though.

Also, they've updated the instructions and have specified we need people from both hemispheres in order to better clarify the image. So we'd need a lot of South Americans hitting it at the same time the US does to get a better picture.

This ARG seems a bit.. How to put it? Dull?

Since they have announced a reveal, it's lost its hype and appeal, I wonder if it will actually amount to anything interesting? So far the images are just cryptic and kind of cool.

Need dem #HYPEZzz

Aaaaaah that writing is so good. It's so perfect at getting me hyped up about the potential this game has, and what it could involve. It reminds me of the writing in Marathon, or Halo 3's terminals. Whoever writes this stuff is doing a fantastic job.

It's just a shame the ARG hasn't gotten more interesting.

Yea, I love the writing. It really reminds me of the cortana letters.

Then stories sound like a tale of mankind's folly, especially in regard to terra forming, or colonizing other planets.

It might be a good idea to get people to try at the top of every hour for the current day until a suitable image is produced. It's easy to remember, hours are always synchronized around the globe, and we'd only have to do it until a URL is discovered. If a wider geographical distribution is required it suits that.

When does the new day start?

Well the biggest problem is the orientation of the hidden image. The closer it is to the center the easier it should be for us to clear it up. The further to the edges, the more of us in different hemispheres it will take.

New one goes up 12am PST/PDT.

That's the current plan. I'm working on a way to rally everyone.

New days start at midnight PST.

Maybe a Steam group or something that posts announcements as a flood is about to start? Everyone logged in should see the notification in the corner of there screen and be reminded to open their node.

Glad to see today's image has been found. It's a little boring though. I mean, even if it was still just the text, but the background plate changed it would be a lot more interesting. It's giving a general feel of aesthetic and tone though, which Im already a fan of. It seems likely the game won't have a central character or story arc so I appreciate how non-specific it is.

Bungie made it slightly more difficult today by making the numbers only show on certain color channels. However, Freefall722 on the Bungie forums (responsible for the dropbox images) was clever enough to be able to adapt his program. Now we just need to refresh the puzzle as much as we can throughout the day. Don't worry too much if you can't or don't remember to do it constantly. Just do it when you can and it should help. Same as yesterday though, I don't expect the full image to be legible until later in the day when our Aussie and New Zealand buddies can reasonably be expected to join us.

Today's puzzle has taken a shift in an odd direction. It will definitely take more effort from various people.

Today's image has 3 different sets of characters. One set in each of the Red, Blue, and Green color channels. The numbers are also ALL central in the image, so they will be far easier to discern. The quest now is to find how they relate to form the solution.
