The one question around ARMs being compared to Splatoon is whether Nintendo will put up the same amount of marketing. If ARMs is their May release will they have a full month of nonestop promotion for the game in the lead up to the release.
Splatoon got tons of marketing during it's launch and continued to get a lot of investment from Nintendo for several months, there is tournaments that are being made that obviously someone is paying to organize, and it had a lot of promotion and other marketing events after the launch. ARMs can certainly get enough exposure in a month for a new system - but it won't have several months of additional marketing dedicated to it afterwards.
I think as a fighter having DLC as part of their service starting this fall will be very good in building a community for the game. Update with free characters and patches for an year and you will inevitably have stronger legs. Also Luffy DLC needs to happen at some point. I think Nintendo could have done this with Pokken if the game had taken off but the Wii U was basically a dead product by than.
We shall see how Nintendo approaches ARMs long term - because it is a new franchise and the impressions about depth have made me interested in picking it up.

It was interesting how quickly Nintendo was able to capitalize on Splatoon with music, concerts, merchandising, dev time, tournaments, cross-promotions etc. I simply question how well they can market individual games long term, so ARMs needs to take off for them to invest into it long term.

Well, at the event in Tokyo the Arms stage was the biggest. If Nintendo does the same push when the game releases it might have potential.

Arms was number 8.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Going on Hokanko, I've read that next week Famitsu's issue is going to have a feature where more than 30 creators give their own impressions on Nintendo Switch. Can anyone confirm if that's the case? I suppose some of the comments could be potentially interesting / hints for the next future
; still probably the majority of them will be PR-ish at best :p

140k for KH2.8 is a bit above what I was expecting after 2.5's drop in sales from 1.5. But it seems this collection having new content/containing what is sort of a KHIII demo helped it a lot.

If leaks are true we're looking at better debuts than last entries. Japan dead.
[PSP] Super Dangan-Ronpa 2: Sayonara Zetsubou Gakuen # <ADV> (Spike Chunsoft) {2012.07.26} (¥6.279) - 69.000 / NEW
[PSV] Dangan-Ronpa 1-2: Reload <ADV> (Spike Chunsoft) {2013.10.10} (¥5.229) - 76.172 / NEW

To be fair DanganRonpa populary's peak made the first entry on PSP sell >200k with the budget version, like Persona with Persona 5 I think they were a bit late on the release of the latest entry to maximize sales (not that sales are/will be bad, far from that, but it would have been even more had it been released a few years prior)
