I .... I expected a boy or maybe a different animal behaving like Yoshi (swallowing enemies etc.) in a game of a non-yoshi genre. This was crazy. I'm thinking about flagging that video for extreme content.

you can make snarky comments on there facebook page still. But they will prob get deleted.

Still from the tailor. I have never seen so many crates to destroy. Even in super crate box. Definately filling a niche there.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised of all of the graphics were taken from somewhere (possibly free resources). I can't imagine somebody being so lazy to use a Yoshi 3D model but will bother to make everything else.

At least the game you get matches the screenshots. Until very recently the iOS AppStore was full of scams like God of War, Counter Strike and others. The trick was to upload a shitty random game, get it approved and then change the name, screenshots and description to some well known franchise.

They finally plugged it, thankfully, by not allowing changes to screenshots and title without uploading a new version for approval, but the loophole was there for way too long.

Why do devs do this?

It does nothing but invite legal trouble, tarnish your name and waste your time.

On top of that, the game was just Yoshi pushing crates and barrels around.

There are worse looking games on mobile platforms but the blatant stealing of intellectual property always puts me off considering you'll be putting this software on the same device as a lot of your personal information.

on the other hand the privileges this game asks for is considerably less than an Angry Birds and many other really popular mobile games.
