Is it dark that I see his quote more about accepting fuckin' Nazis then the people they're targeting?
You mean because the fascists can get behind the "it's* people**" part to pretend they're being cooperative?

*The rightful inheritors of the land
**Non-white colors/beliefs =/= people

Or the fact that he's demanding loyalty to a set of lines on a piece of paper, only given significance by peoples' desire to perpetuate a non-corporeal entity, that has a 50/50 chance of despising their existence depending on whose in charge?

Love for America requires love for all its people*
Donald Trump

*unless that person has originated in a different country or has the wrong colour of skin or sexual orientation. I'm actually just saying this to justify my sickening pandering to white supremists who are the antithesis of the statement I just puked out.

Deceptive logic. He's wrapping an excuse for hatred in a chummy aphorism.

You can love and respect all people while despising the hateful views some of them hold and act upon. It's in the best interest of bigots and violent extremists to be stopped and ideally reformed, because society is a collective and each individual's welfare is interlinked. We raise ourselves up by raising others, by building a society in which every person enjoys a certain basic standard of security, freedom, and comfort.

Our current warped socioeconomic structure where the elites take nearly all of the wealth and leave the rest of us to scrap over the crumbs is unsustainable. A society built that way will eventually consume itself, as we appear to be doing now, or be compromised and overtaken by a rival power.

A society that truly reflected love for all people wouldn't be mired in rampant inequality, nor would it allow agents of that inequality to shield themselves with the same defenses (freedom of speech, the right to tolerance) that belong to citizens who respect and support one another.

A beautifully worded socialist mantra. Couldn't agree more.

It's just more of the same from him. Even when he says the right things (a rarity in itself) he doesn't act on them.

Does that include undocumented immigrants?

To Trump, those aren't people though.

Anyway, the issue with these platitudes is that they should've been said at the beginning of his campaign. This is just to placate people and point at liberals for being "hypocritical" when we don't buy it. He can get fucked.

Love is when you move on her like a bitch. If you're famous, they'll let you do it. Grab her by the pussy. That's love.

Love for America requires love for America, and waving a flag of Confederates or Nazis is waving an anti-American flag.

"But Muslim is anti-american also, What you mean we allowed Muslim but not Nazi and Confederates!!"

/s

Accurate statement spoken from the wrong individual. Which is why the Nazis/White-Supremacists/Bigots need to be dealt with. They are manifestations of hate, not love, and until they're gone love for America fails to exist.

The only ONLY thing I want to see before this guy is sent down the bad egg chute is him singing the National Anthem Naked Gun style.

I cannot sanction this level of disingenuous dialogue, veiled white supremists are ok too and irony. It's bad for my blood pressure.

Trump's beyond believing a word he says if you're at all sensible and possessed of modicum of critical thinking.

America voted that shithead into office, so for that as well as a number of other reasons "love" is the last word I'd use to describe my feelings for this country. More like "thankful." As in thankful it's not North Korea. Not really high praise.

Meanwhile he's breaking up families, deporting law abiding immigrants, and supporting Nazis and Secessionists.

Oh, and working for Russia to undermine our government.

This. Plain and simple, Trump and his ilk are vile cunts, and they will be brought justice as long as we keep the pressure up.

This is a wonderfully thoughtful post. Thank you for it. I like to hear kindness, groundedness, and reason from time to time.

What a phony. What a difference between Obama and this guy. You can't make those statements without a ounce of empathy.

One day, people will marvel at how anyone believed a word this vacant, narcissistic, manipulative cunt said. He's still trying to gaslight people and get acclaim for the most trivial of statements. Don't be fooled. He loves no one. Including himself. He won't turn on these people because they're the only idiots left who support him.

There is something to be said for:

That doesn't mean you don't fight against hate, but you do so without malice in your own heart. Hate begets more hate.

Coming from Trump it feels disengenious though.

I think there's good reason to feel pretty malicious right now. Also "hate begets hate" is an empty platitude. Hate can also inspire other reactions, like prompting self self-reflection when people realize they're widely reviled, or making white nationalists run scared back to their racist hidey holes.

As usual, he's behaving like a petulant little kid.

This is basically his version of "I know you are but what am I" that he's saying to the "intolerant left." Very transparent.
