These numbers sound right but I would hold off until a Japanese site reports these.

In before the "How the f... did they get those numbers" reaction: the site is legit and they say they were able to get the datas by themselves.

Those are okay numbers for Japan in these days I guess. Monster Hunter did better than I expected, guess the bundles helped.

Not bad if true. Nintendo needs to give consumers some hope for the future tho. No one knows anything about the system past Spring of next year. Unacceptable.

I'd be interested to know what the initial shipment was. Does that figure indicate a sell through?

Indeed it is unacceptable given that at this stage in the life-cycle, people are buying a console for future titles and potential. Although we could argue, we all know what's coming (3D Mario and Zelda!). Still debating whether to sell mine - right now all my interest is in 360 and PS3's incredible 2013 line-ups. Although I know the moment I sell it, Yoshi's Land will become a reality and I'll be gutted. So holding fire, for now...

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Since I'm not seeing these numbers on Famitsu site, is Gamekult reliable in events like these?

Well Vita told us that launch numbers mean shit. Still of course good numbers. Next week is already a lot more telling (Vita took huge dive in its second week)

Of course, next week numbers will be the ones to watch. But at least it's not a disastrous start (software sales are kinda meh I guess but hw numbers are pretty good).

Edit: lol at those sellthrough numbers. Warrior Orochi, ZombiU and Tekken Tag will never sell through their first shipment.

Enterbrain gives early numbers to subscribers but it's weird they haven't leaked at Japanese blogs first. Still, they seem real.

Good start (excellent considering price versus Wii), but so was the Vita's.

Software is the only thing that will keep the steam going, and right now, Nintendo hasn't really inspired much confidence on that front.

Also, I'm shocked MH wasn't the highest selling game. Was there no desperate SKU without a bundle?

Edit: ugh, that software...

Again, what are you gamers buying the system for? Heh

Is that good or bad for Monster Hunter?

I would say solid but not spectacular.

For some perspective, it has outsold every Vita 3rd party game but 2 released so far.

I don't know why you're shocked. This is a HD port of a handheld game a lot of people already have, if anything I'm surprised it sold so well.

If those numbers are real, I would say Monster Hunter did pretty well for being a launch title and a porting. And even Zombi U, considering what kind of title it is...not that bad. But Tekken and Warriors Orochi...urgh. I mean, URGH.

Wow. Look at the Vita number for launch and the current state it's in right now. Nintendo needs to make sure they keep the momentum going.

Given the post launch lineup ... *crickets* Doesn't help that there's so many Japanese third party games not on Wii U, but PS3.

NintendoLand should be bundled with every Wii U in every region. Any sale that doesn't include it is a tremendous missed opportunity.

Well, software sales are significantly better than what Vita launched with so at the very least I don't expect a complete disaster.
