lol, I didn't expect it to be that song. The only time I've ever been in a mosh pit situation was to that song at The Beaumont in KC for the Headbanger's Ball '04 tour with them, Himsa, Bleeding Through, and Arch Enemy. My buddy kept urging me to get in and I said "Eh, if they happen to play The Forest Whispers my Name, then I will." That is one of the few songs of theirs that I can still stand to listen to though. I used to be into them but the only song of theirs that I have in any playlists on any of my devices is their cover of Anathema's "Sleepless:" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m5fa-U_2SIA

I was caught off guard to see the song having gotten a lyric video as of last year, but yeah. That song shows off a lot. He has some of the best screams I've ever heard. Honestly, I can't do Sleepless. I know Bam Margera requested Dani to sing it at a studio when he was visiting him in Iceland for his wedding. In regards to having done the cover he "Thought nothing of it". hahaha... interesting stuff!

Wow, OP. Theocracy is one of those bands I've loved since the beginning when it was just Matt Smith and a drum machine, that I assumed no one else ever liked outside the few metalheads I saw on the internet discussing them. I know they have a ton of respect in the metal community, especially considering they're a Christian band, but it's so rare to run into someone out in the wild (even on the internet) that likes them that this is literally the first time it's ever happened for me.

Matt Smith really is a tremendous vocalist, and a fantastic songwriter. Twist of Fate is so fucking good it never fails to blow my mind, along with all of Theocracy's big epic 9+ minute songs. Laying the Demon to Rest, MIrror of Souls, I Am, and of course their hilarious Christmas epic, Wynter Fever.

Goddamn what a good fucking band. Ghost Ship wasn't quite as good as As the World Bleeds, but it's still a kick ass prog metal record.

I still need to give a shout out to another of my favorites who's voice is self-admitedly pretty divisive.

Davey Havok of AFI (and Son of Sam, Blaqk Audio, XTRMST, and Dreamcar)

I love his range, style, lyrics, cadence and even the evolution of his voice.

Hard to pick one song so I'll choose just 2 and from AFI's most recent for an up to date representation.

Still a Stranger for the faster cadence, anthemic chorus and bellows at the end:

Feed From the Floor for the moody, "ballad"-ish style:

Yes.

One voice I've adored since my younger days is Seal's. He has such a wealth of great material that most don't find out beyond 'Kiss From A Rose' and 'Crazy'.

Another one of my favourites is Geoff Tate from Queensrÿche. From 1988 to 1994-95, he had a ridiculous voice in metal. It's dropped off quite a bit, unfortunately, but it still gives me chills.

Finally, I gotta go with one of my more recent favourites, Kimbra. I love how she uses her voice and manipulates it in different ways in her songs.

EDIT: My bad. I posted three instead of just one.

Ahh ok all is well. Since he has already been appropriately lauded, I will instead suggest ANOHNI. Her voice is absolutley magical. On mobile so no link, but it's like something from another universe.

Fuyuki "Fuki" Tenge (Light Bringer, Doll$Boxx, Unlucky Morpheus)

My favorite vocalist of all time. She's a metal singer, predominantly power metal (though she's done some more hard rock collabs). She's known for her powerful vocals that are unlike any other in the Japanese metal scene. I first discovered her back in the Touhou doujin circle band days and have loved everything she's done since. Her voice pairs perfectly with blazing guitars, blasting drums, melodious violins and piano, and the pure energy of metal. If you like Galneryus, you'll likely love her work.

Unlucky Morpheus - "Phantom Blood"
Light Bringer - "Resistance"
Doll$Boxx -"Take My Chance", "Karakuri Town", "Roleplaying Life"
