Opening for GOW3

I was literally shouting "Oh Shit" at the climax of the poseidon fight. Truly one my best gaming moments

The opening to God of War 3, the last boss fight in Ascension stand out to me.

Damn that makes me wish I would have finished ascension. I got to that elevator part pre patch and man I just couldnt do it. Gave up and sold the game for 40 bucks.

As for me my favorite part in the series has got to be fighting chronos(The big titan in GoW 3). The sense of scale in that battle was fucking mind blowing and when he is picking you up and your smaller then his pinky nail. dman.

A lot of God of war 3 blew me away. The scale of everything... the boss fight's. .. so epic. Actually playing through the remastered version right now.

Never did play ascension. For what ever reason I can't find a copy in store any where. May have to order it on amazon.

After loving 1, 2, and PSP 1...

...I barely made it through 3, and PSP 2.

....so ya my best moment would have been the reveal trailer -- right when he's teaching his son and he's saying "don't apologize...just do better"

GoW3 and Ghost of Sparta are by far the best ones!

Fighting Hades in 3.

When I first got my PS3, I had played through the whole saga (sans Ascension, it wasn't out yet then) chronologically. After
killing Persephone
in CoO, I felt like fighting Hades was a long time coming. And it had a hell of a payoff.

I'm gonna pick a non combat moment. The monologue with Hercules. I love, while Herc was babbling, Kratos gave no fucks. Nary a flinch. He felt pretty powerful at that moment.

Honestly just all of God of War 3, I was so hyped for it and it delivered. I remember being stunned at the graphics in the opening and the fight with Hades

3 was the only one I didn't finish (was a Gamefly rental and was motivated to get it back in the mail) and I never played Ascension.

I can say from the love in this thread, I probably was just burned out by the time I played 3.

GoW3 was the first one I played from the series. I still remember the first time I played the opening scene; it was on my brother in-law's 65" with surround sound. It was that opening scene (especially after
gouging out Poseidon's eyes
) that initially grabbed my interest and sold me on the series, thus being the most memorable and favorite scene.

GoW3:
- Hercules battle.
- That big-ass spider battle where you HAD to use The Cestus to damage the spider.

Don't remembe much from GoW1/2. I know they were awesome but it was long ago.

It's so worth it if only for that final boss fight.

The opening to 3 blew my mind. To me, it's a technical showcase for what the PS3 can do, and just jaw dropping.

Poseidon. Easy.

It's that moment where GoW3 would forever be in some sort of "all timer" list because of it. I actually loved the whole game. It was ultra violent but I liked that they had comparatively smaller fights and still had the huge fights like Poseidon and then the 3(?) stage Zeus fight. I need to play Ascension.

never left the stone age
Haven't played the games but my favourite moment is endlessly pummeling Zeus because it gave us one of the funniest thread I've ever read.

Bronetta

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
God of War 2 is my favorite game in the series but I have to give a shoutout to the final boss in Ascension. The visuals and spectacle on display was mind melting.

Colossus of Rhodes fight in GoW2.

Fantastic gameplay
Beautiful visuals/vistas
Incredible music & voice acting.
Perfect pacing & sense of progression.

Just a overall incredibly done sequence that somehow matched (maybe even topped?) the first game's Hydra.

No intro in a GoW game has even come close.

Let me think:

- Ares fight gow1
- opening sequence of gow2 colossus of rodhes untill Zeus kills Kratos
- opening of gow3, flying up the hot steam, hades, chronos
- fighting the duo boss in accention and last boss

Hades throwing that one rock across the entire world to impale Kratos in GOW1.

That's Ares and he throwing a pillar from Athens across Desert of Lost Souls straight into the Pandora Temple.

My fave one is Minotaur Battle on GoW 1, love the tense soundtrack.

My favorite moment in the first two God of War games is when I finally had enough of the pointlessly brutal and cruel QTE kills after each boss fight, and stopped playing the each game. After the second one, I just decided to never play another God of War game again. A fantastic moment to remember.

I replaced the entire series earlier this year and except for the last bits of Chains of Olympus everything about this series is amazing. On of a few series where I can play 6 games in a row without getting tired of the gameplay.

One of the best moments showing scale back in the first game. When the camera first panned down and you saw Kronos crawling, it was a real "Holy shit!" moment.

Top two moments in God of War for me are:

In God of War II when Kratos attempts to stab Zeus and Athena gets in the way. There's literally half a second or less of remorse on Kratos's face before he goes right back to being angry.

In God of War III when Kratos has to choose between saving Pandora and attempting to kill Zeus. The look on his face is priceless. Then he screams real loud and of course decides that vengeance is more important than this innocent girl that reminds him of his family whom he murdered.

I don't look at these moments as deep introspective moments. I just find them amusing. You spend the whole game being angry and killing everything that moves and then you just have these brief moments where Kratos sort of resembles something vaguely human before he just says "fuck that" and goes back to being angry.

I'm not really looking forward to GoW4 because it seems to flip the script on this formula. Kratos is now trying to be a good person and raise his son and is trying to suppress his anger. Lame. I want Odin to piss off Kratos somehow and then watch Kratos unleash Ragnarok just to get revenge.

God of War 3 (My favorite GOW).

Cronos fight... i was blown away, so much in fact that i saved this part in a seperate save file just to show it to friends who were all amazed by the scale of the fight and the graphics that even to this day look great.

Maybe not the best place to post this, but fuck me I have to vent. This is my first experience with the GoW series, and I'm playing 3 Remastered on the PS4. I decided to start off on hard, and while it's been a bitch I was almost to the end of the game. I just finished escorting Pandora to the top of the Daedalus blocks, and I decided to try to drop down behind the elevator platform because it looked like some chests might be on a ledge down there. I die instantly, and now whenever I respawn it results in an instant death. Don't rely entirely on the autosave folks...ffffffck

Spot on. Shame on Gow 3, Kronos appeared to be on smaller scale but i understand that would be impractical for such a battle. But I still impressed with little detail on Kronos such as Zeus mountain on tip of Pandora Temple.

I love all the god of war games.

But the first time I played the opening of God of War 3 (the first boss fight), I was fucking floored.

That stands as my favorite moment :D

Hades boss fight, highlight of the entire series.

Points also go the excellent ending of GoW1 that the franchise immediately ignored.

"ZEUS. YOUR SON HAS RETURNED. I BRING THE DESTRUCTION OF OLYMPUS"

That moment was so cool. In fact, that whole ending of God of War 2 was incredible. One of my favourite gane endings
