Lol, and here it goes... Here lies the problem with immigration in France, as soon as you want to talk about it, the suspicion of everyone being racist is launched and you can't have a reasonable discussion.
Immigration policy is a subject who should always be discussed because demography is the center of every society and when you take millions of people from their country and put them somwhere else to exploit them, you shouldn't be surprised when they want to practice their religion and don't have any love for their new country.

There is something wrong with a countries immigration policies when you have entire city sized suburbs that the police are afraid (or refuse) to go into. When a gigantic chunk of that city sized suburb is unemployed, and another sizable chunk can't (or refuse to learn) speak any French despite living in France for years.
We have some of these issues in Canada too (in our major cities) ... But nothing anywhere near to the extent of France. Then when you throw radical extremists into the mix ... Yeah I think it's time to have a hard look at France's immigration strategy because it isn't working.

Getting him alive stopped being an objective once the police started getting fired at. Merah was given a chance to surrender, he didn't take it.

This picture really got me. It's from the funeral of one of the three soldiers believed to have been killed by the same guy. That is his pregnant girlfriend on the right side.
