I love the fact this game exists. Great sister franchise to Smash Bros. :)

Excited about Big Daddy. I want a Heavy Rain character now.

I can understand how people feel about Big Daddy. It's the same way I felt about Snake being in the Smash Brothers series, and I hope he doesn't come back. But whatever, the character could be a fun addition in any case.

I'm really hoping that we'll get more reveals tomorrow. The game is only five or six months away from launch -- certainly a show as big as E3 deserves more than just Drake and Big Daddy.

Sonic Generations was a greatest hit, and Sonic appeared in Brawl, so you can bet your ass the furry critter will be in this iteration of fighting stars.

There's going to be a ton of characters in this game. It looks like they're choosing to reveal them not by status but by play style. Radec, range specialist. PaRappa, close range melee. Sweet Tooth, heavy hitter. Sly Cooper, quick and stealthy. Kratos, obvious. Now a Big Daddy, I'd imagine powerful yet somewhat lumbering.

eh I'm not much of a bioshock fan so I'm not too excited for this. I want some Sega characters in there, along with Dark Cloud's Toan, and Final Fantasy characters.

Awesome! When the game was revealed this was one of the characters on my wish list

Sony seem to have a good relationship going with Ken Levine so this isn't THAT big of a shock I guess, but awesome news nontheless

Anyway, I'm surprised that big daddy is in it but I'm happy, that's a character I never expected.

Marketing purposes?

Pretty straight forward why they would do it. Even if it slightly dilutes the perception it is a 360 brand it is worthwhile especially if they go further with infinity (something at e3 this year? Dlc?)

It takes time to turn the perception around but they should at least be trying.

Metal Gear started on MSX and was then ported to NES, long before Solid Snake arrived on Playstation.

+ Snake vs. Mario was a tale of huge IPs going at it. Big Daddy is not, and with Infinite, it isn't even a relevant bioshock character at this point.

That's what people want though. They want characters that they are familiar with because they have followed Sony since the OG PS. They want those characters both new and old, to be in a game together. Not just some random mash-up of characters from east-hell just cause they had a brief stint on the latest console in an age where 1st party games are becoming fewer and far inbetween.

Most people are expecting this game to be like 80-85% Sony-Exclusive characters, similar (but not entirely) to how Smash was done, and you see how those games were received. Sony has the potential character roster, I just hope this game doesn't end up a dissapointment due to trying to please the masses by giving them what you think they want and not actually just giving them what they do want.

Not really a celebration of Playstation, just a piece of marketing disguised as a game

Interest in this game just shot up with this Big Daddy announcement. :)
I was definitely not expecting him to be in the game; this gives me hope on other 3rd party inclusions.

see, this is what I was telling my friend. He says they'll pick guys THAT STARTED in PS. So I asked "So... Snake wont be in it?" He says no..

Then I asked... "Cloud?" Still said no...

You act as if Sony can choose any 3rd party character and they will magically appear in the game. Doesn't work like that. They take what 3rd parties will give them.
