Found a cool free game. Polytopia, think a nice different take on civilization. The default mode is a 30 turn high score run, but there is an endless mode too. 4 civs are free, and there are other you can buy, so plenty of free gaming. No ads either.

Yeah, I had fun with that game. It was a little too simplistic for me in the end though.

Thanks for the recommendation. I grabbed it last night and have enjoyed it.

It seems like a less polished, but perhaps a bit deeper (in terms of leveling) take on the Defender by Droidhen series.

It's been a while coming but we've finally released Piczle Lines DX on Android!

http://www.piczle.club/piczlelinesdx.html

Here is our silly af trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3YwoljHljQ

Direct link to Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...os.PiczleLines

(iOS version should be out real soon)

As it's free why not give it a jolly good try and, you know, grace us with a rating or review - it'd really help us out!

It's the same kind of puzzle game, yes! I hope you'll like it.

iOS version is up now too. (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/picz...x/id1015862103 if that is allowed in an Android thread :) )

I've been playing this a lot and really love it. The amount of customization of skills, buildings, and research makes this much deeper than games like this typically are.

Free yes.. Beware, the Amazon version doesn't place nice with Marshmallow (YMMV). I had to buy the GP version, because my paid Amazon version stopped working.. Thankfully it was on sale for 99c.

- You may eventually be forced to grind or pay for plant level ups, otherwise particular levels are impossible.
- There is now less emphasis on skill, and more emphasis on stats. PvZ 2 was designed to be harder than PvZ 1 so that casual players will pay for gold to use power ups, or spend real cash to buy premium plants. However, it's always been possible to beat all levels without doing any of those. The challenge was a huge welcome.
- You can't freely pick plants anymore. Oh, you need a particular plant because of certain zombies in a level? Oh too bad, the plant's level is too low to be useful.

I freaking love PvZ 2, because of the design and challenge, but this just really hurt my perception of the game. Hope I'm just overreacting.

PvZ2 may well be my most played game on android. Amazing pick up and play, super challenging levels, and awesome art style. I haven't played it in a couple of weeks. This really bums me out. :(

PvZ Heroes is also pretty fun. If you can stick through the tutorial it really opens up and is also a welcome challenge. I'll try out PvZ2 today and see how it's changed.

Edit: PvZ2 is still playable without having to spend a dime. The game is much harder than the first one but I've completed 4 whole worlds without spending any money.

A Good Snowman is currently on sale for $3 (40% off), at least in the US. It's a really fun puzzle game with a nice artstyle.

Siralim 2 is also on sale for $2.49 (50% off) at the moment, but I think today is the last day of the sale. It's an interesting mix of roguelike and Pokemon, and it has a ton of content.

A Normal Lost Phone is on sale for 20 cents.

A Normal Lost Phone is a game about exploring the intimacy of an unknown person whose phone was found by the player.

The game takes the shape of a narrative investigation: you have to search the phone’s text messages, pictures and applications, in order to learn about its former owner. Through this phone, you uncover Sam’s life, friends, family and relationships, until the evening when they turn 18 and mysteriously disappear.

I'm not familiar with this game but I like the art and premise so I went and bought it for the low, low, might as well be free price.
