The "On Cinema" Film Guide said:
The award-winning On Cinema web series is the only movie review show on the Internet, and now it's the only movie review app on the market. Host Tim Heidecker, and Featured Resident Guest And Film Expert Gregg Turkington share their expertise as they offer up-to-date, reliable opinions on the latest and greatest movie releases. Audio reviews for over 17,000 films are included in this easy-to-use, fun, pocket-sized movie review database. Each film is discussed and then given a rating from zero (BOMB) to five (CLASSIC!) bags of popcorn.

You will no longer have to navigate the murky world of film criticism on your own! Type in nearly any title, and Tim and Gregg have an opinion on it. They don't always agree--but you'll agree that the On Cinema app is the newest, hottest way to access movie reviews.

Tired of wandering the aisles at your local video rental shop, unable to decide on a movie? Our randomizing "quick pick" feature can steer you in the right direction. Tim and Gregg have combined their decades of movie-viewing experience into a fun app that is the life of any party, and a distraction at the workplace.

Features +++
- FINALLY available, after many requests for an app of this nature
- Over 17,000 unique reviews, at your fingertips

The Future of Cinema

It's pretty riveting to get an idea of what's in stake for cinema's future from 2 of the most knowledgeable buffs in the business.

Wow. This was really great. I hope Gregg is right in saying that we'll be seeing lots more from Bilbo Baggins.

fezA+

gregg's obsession with the hobbit is fucking gold

There are quite a few of us Hobbit freaks just counting down the minutes until the next film. I truly think Oscar will smile upon the second Hobbit film, as it's based on the middle third of the tale of Bilbo Baggins, one of the remaining literary greats.

After like the 10th time they showed that one dwarf's picture, and all the times after, I nearly pissed my pants.

"This has got to be in my top 30 movies"
"I love this movie"
"In my top 20 movies easy"

4 bags of popcorn out of 5

I love this app

That time he had the girl co-host, she only gave 1 or 2 bags of popcorn and some sodas, because she doesn't like popcorn.

I found a six bagger!

The Hobbit 1977 gets six bags from Tim.

Gregg loves the score and acting in "Passion of the Christ" and says he doesn't know if there's a sequel, but if there is he'll be first in line.

This app is way better than Rotten Tomatoes for getting some quick advice from two film buffs. I hope the proceeds will help Tim with his Eastern medicine expenses.

I love this series, been watching since they started doing videos. Never got to catch the podcasts, my favorite part is when one of them either upstages a rating or adds something crazy, like when gregg gave some extra for john goodmen in argo :lol

These are pretty funny. No Redlettermedia, but his form of comedy has its merits too. Unless you're watching "The Comedy", then you just feel awkward and uncomfortable the entire time. Man, that movie.

Just one look at Ayaka and you can tell she is a devious tape-mangler. I for one will not be trusting her opinions of what constitutes a popcorn classic again.

I'm not sure if people are aware (I wasn't) but this show was picked up by Adult Swim and there is a new season on their youtube channel. I think it also airs on TV now.

Yeah, they're in-between seasons. Hope it's back soon, as I skip out on new releases when I can't get an in-depth critique from bona fide film buffs. On the other hand, I've been spending lots of time with some popcorn classics.

I hope everyone here has donated to Gregg's 500 Movies in 500 Days Kickstarter campaign, as he's going to need help to pay for all of those movies, popcorn, parking and sodas. We're so close. Here's the campaign video in case you haven't seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQnrkISJ288

500 movies in 500 days just can't be done. That's why no one has done it before. I want to contribute to his kickstarter, but it would be like putting money into a kickstarter for someone who wanted to eat 500 sandwiches in 500 days. I wouldn't waste my money because everyone knows it's impossible already.

Big news for all of you film buffs living in or visiting northern California early next year. You may recognize historic San Francisco as the setting for classic films like Star Trek 2, but on January 25th this proud city will host a live action "On Cinema with Tim Heidecker & Gregg Turkington" as part of the SF Sketchfest.

Tickets are $20 and available at https://www.vendini.com/ticket-software.html?t=tix&e=0e9f088588655264959ebd4801181ad3

No idea if this is in danger of selling out, but I grabbed my tickets as soon as they opened on Sunday. Unfortunately for me it's general admission, so I'll be trying to get there early to get decent seats. Also, there's obviously way more at http://sfsketchfest.com/ but I figured I'd post the direct link to tickets above.

I really need this to come back. I know Hobbits 2 is a 5 bagger but I gotta know what addons Gregg gives it! While watching it yesterday I was thinking back to their Future Predictions of many more Bilbo sequels and cracking up.

"We'll be watching him til we're old and gray my friend!"

Madea turns a small town upside down when she's persuaded into helping a friend pay her daughter a surprise visit on christmas.

As great as that episode is, I can't get over hearing that in—of all places—Cleveland Ohio they aren't even letting use manger for display?

What?

How long has this show been back?

I thought they announced a hiatus but were still doing the podcast in the meantime?

I waited for new podcasts but they never happened.

Oh well, at least there is a backlog I can look into.

I see the original site seems to be dead, no wonder I am confused.

On Cinema Christmas Special. Looking forward to hearing Greg's thoughts on the new Hobbit.
spoiler alert? i was excited to see who the special guest was. thanks.

Great to see Hobbit 2 get a great score from both of them. It looks to be a real contender for oscar.

Amadeus Christmas sounded very good as well, surprised to see it got 5 bags from them. I have never seen a black christmas movie so I can't wait to see this one.

The audio podcast has been off for a year and I'm guessing they're only doing video from now on.
