Media Create Sales: Week 24, 2017 (Jun 12 - Jun 18)

Japanese Nintendo eShop Charts - as of June 23rd, 2017, 19:22 GMT {2017.06.09 - 2017.06.23}

01. Arms (Nintendo)
02. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition (Mojang/Microsoft)
03. SnipperClips: Cut it out together! (Nintendo)
04. Human Resource Machine (Tomorrow Corporation)
05. Mighty Gunvolt Burst (Inti Creates)
06. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Nintendo)
07. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo)
08. Oceanhorn - Monster of Uncharted Seas (FDG Entertainment)
09. ACA NeoGeo: Metal Slug 3 (Hamster)
10. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove (Yacht Club Games)
11. Kamiko (Circle)
12. Seiken Densetsu Collection (Square Enix)
13. Plantera DX Edition (Rainy Frog)
14. Battle Sports Mekuru (Over Pence)
15. 1-2 Switch (Nintendo)

I can see why ARMS may have good digital sales.

I mean the game is 2.2gb. Nintendo developers are masters at this stuff.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I think the eshop chart was posted already.

It was the top 10 only, and this is more recent. If more people think it's redundant, I'd have no problems in editing it out, though.

I have to ask, why aren't USFII and Bomberman in this list but Mana ROMS are?

and why are they doing better than 1-2 switch?

Capcom's MHW YouTube ads seem to have ended. The vid has gained only 20k views in 2 days.

Oh don't worry I just thought it was the same but it appears it is not, so I was wrong.

I think Nintendo is good as far as 2017 is concerned. Mario in October, Skyrim in November and Xenoblade in December (or vice versa) would suffice, especially considering prior games such as Zelda, Mario Kart and Splatoon should have substantial legs in the holidays.

But hey, if they happen to have Mario Party 11 or something up their sleeves as well, then even better.

As cool as Smash would be for November I don't see it. Smash is one of Nintendo's biggest IPs and for the past 2 entries, has been accompanied by a large "hype train". Many directs between 2013 and 2015 either opened or closed with a Smash character being announced since it's an easy way to generate hype.

Of course, if Smash for Switch is more of a port without much new stuff then a short announcement to release timeframe would make more sense.

Pretty much everyone talking about Smash for 2017 is talking about a hypothetical smash 4 deluxe

It's possible that Nintendo considers Zelda story DLC as a "major" release and gets a GOTY edition out the door for holidays.

Or, at the very least, another major push.

Looking at the insane attach rate, legs and critical reception, it would shock me if they didn't. They shouldn't let Zelda's momentum fade later into the year, even with Mario Odyssey and Pokemon to push during the holidays.

Well, there's something still unrevealed for this year according to the Reggie interview, so... /shrug

Probably not going to be a big software like Animal Crossing or Smash at all.

But i can see more collab title like Momotaro Densetsu style last year.^^

Who knows, Tongari Boshi Switch? Fab Style Switch? Or some game which suited Switch demographic.^^

Of course, that's why I mentioned the part at the end. If Smash 4 Deluxe adds 2 or 3 characters then yeah. Otherwise it's unlikely for 2017 IMO.
I think my expectations are down to either "release by March with all the dlc and combining stages but nothing truly new" or "completely new Smash 5 in '19 or '20." Who they even gonna use for flagship newcomers in Smash 5 if they drop in inklings and
twintelle
spring man for 4dx?

If they had Smash 4 Switch they ready for this year they would have shown it at E3. To think anything else just doesn't make sense. Hell we might not see it until next year around e3, used as a promotional vehicle for Smash 5.

I expect either no characters or some scrapped 4 characters like Chrom/Wolf/Ice Climbers for the Switch version of 4. Probably none or just Ice Climbers.

"Mana ROMS" on Switch are awesome, classic, timeless games with PERFECT emulation. Seiken Densetsu 3 alone is better than nearly every JRPG released these days. I played the original cart for 300+ hours in the 90s, and I've played it emulated in many emulators over the years (always been dissatisfied with these). The Switch version is the closest to the original cart (in that I really can't tell the difference between the two), and the only official release since the original cart. Not hard to figure out why it's selling in good numbers.

Sounds more like something that would be like Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z

So, I’m gonna try making a game that’ll become the singularity between indies and the Nintendo Switch.

Travis co-starring with an indie star.
Mm… well to put it in simpler terms, in wrestling it’d be like shoot style versus hardcore wrestling.
Well, maybe not quite…
Well…
Like in Fire Pro Wrestling, Saeba with Kita.
Basically, I can’t really explain it that well, but yeah!
Travis is gonna bust his way onto Nintendo Switch.

Could be anything from an old Souls port, to a new AC, or even a MH spinoff again.
I'd be surprised if they didn't bring anything, I just doubt it'd be something surprising.

Lots of online storefronts got some Switch stock today.

Yodobashi (morning edition): Sold out in 2mins (Neon/Grey)
Yamada Denki: Sold out in 2mins (Neon), sold out in 4mins (Grey), also crashed the site for a bit
Joshin: Sold out in less than 60 seconds (Neon only)
Yodobashi (evening edition): Yeah, there was actually more than one opportunity to order online today from YodoB. Both sold out in 12mins this time.

Retailer blogs have given signs for increased shipments after Arms since many days ago.

It was obvious when Nintendo announced new 2DS LL and Splatoon 2 Switch bundle that at least Japan would receive big amounts of stock in preparation of late July and their statement further confirmed that.

Level 5 has been absent from the Switch in general. Interesting to see given how all in they were on the 3ds from the start.

Level 5's early 3DS support basically crashed and burned their franchise. It wasn't until the 3DS audience was primed that L5 found another success in Yokai Watch. They seem to be avoiding the same with Switch while trying to stay relevant with mobile ports of their games.

I have asked the same question several times but I reaaaally have to wonder how mzny sales has nintendo lost due to scarcity,

from Launch til now, around 300k maybe?

Level 5 crashes and burns their franchises all on their own. No need to blame 3DS adoption rate.

Lost sale is a sale that won't be replenished in the future and that representss a small percentage of these potential 300k. A huge holiday shipment can cover most of these loses.

True, 300k really isn't much but it would be nice if nintendo would solve their stock issues.

the thing is... I want the switch to sell as much as fast as possible in the hopes that we see 3rd party japanese pubs/devs green-lighting more and more games.

saleswise, the sooner it looks like PS2/GBA/DS and less like a 3DS the better.

I would add that lost sales are more of a concern with major game releases or holiday periods.

The former has an effect on loss of software sales if there isn't enough hardware supplied. The latter having an effect on both loss of software and hardware sales if there isn't enough hardware supplied.

I'd say that ARMS wasn't affected significantly by this since its debut was 100k sales FW.

However, Splatoon 2 would be something to look out for whether it would lose software sales. Although that's unlikely now since Nintendo have addressed that there will be increased hardware shipments from July.

Yeah, I wonder if that is a combination of low install bases and the IPs just no longer being attractive enough to get people to adopt new hardware just to play them? Miracle Mask was around 110k whereas Unwound Future opened at like 350K?

I think Level-5 allowing the switch userbase to grow before bringing their IPs across should allow the eventual releases to perform better than the 3ds openers did.

edit - Damn, the Inazuma drop from 3 opening at over 500k to Go opening at 135k.
