My favorite was at the end of one of Game of Thrones' Season 4(?) episodes where

Jamey's hand is cut off

, then it cuts to credits and a rollicking rock song. One of those amazing wtf moments for viewers.

A bit of a cliche songs for TV shows nowadays but the lead actor for Lucifer, Tom Ellis, singing All Along the Watchtower at the end of season 2, episode 1 was fantastic. He's sung on the show a few times now.

Ahh no, not for me. It went against the period and atmosphere of the show hard. I get why people might like the juxtaposition, but I think it compromises the integrity of the universe a little bit. It'd be like if The Lord of the Rings had a scene with the Beastie Boys in the background.

The end credits to the first episode of Luther. Plays Emiliana Torrini - Gun while showing parts of the next episode with the skinhead and his crazy son.

The only thing thats come close imo is the ending to the season premier of Doctor Who with Amy Pond where it goes into the promo that ends with the "what you dont put in trap" line of dialogue.

Quite a lot of good ones in this thread. I'd add Keep on Rollin' from Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Hookey Street from Only Fools and Horses, any of the Blackadder closing themes (season three and the show finale special being my favourites.

One Piece has had a couple of decent ones back when they did ending themes, like Memories and A to Z, and the original DB ED, Romantic Ageru Yo was ok too - had a good english cover as well.
