Lazy Game Reviews - Anyone Else a Big Fan?

i love LGR. he has a very nice voice and he is all about the games. you never hear him bitch about dumb controversies cos he is too busy talking about the games. he has a wonderful temperament and sense of humor.

really appreciate all his hardware videos too. dude has a lot of respect for games & systems as tactile, physical products. lots of reviewers, it seems like they just went through a folder full of games w an emulator, this guy really digs into the history. wish there were more like him.

Clint gets boxes worth of vintage IBM DOS era PC games from the early '80's to early '90s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NQUbl8bVHw

The packaging for some of the early to mid '80s IBM DOS games he was given are outright phenomenal.

Love the packaging for OMNITREND'S UNIVERSE, which is literally a black binder with all of the instructions printed out in a field manual style:

Really classy stuff.

Also that DOS Broderbund Ys box looks amazing.

Very surprised he isn't brought up more here. Truly entertaining and knowledgeable guy.

Seeing him go from a few thousand subs when I first encountered him to almost 700k, it's nice to see someone get success on YT just by displaying his legit passion and just being himself. It isn't like PDP numbers or whatever, but retro computer stuff probably never would be anyway. Slowly growing his audience kind of fits his laid back approach. :)

I really hope we can get some MIDI comparisons for lesser-known games which Clint's collected, not just the usual test games from videos by Phil's Computer Lab or someone else.

Yeah, and especially without any kind of drama, hot takes or dumb video thumbnails. Just pure quality of content!

Yep. He has a Patreon with 2,100 patrons to support his videos. This way he isn't completely dependent upon Youtube monetization.

I really enjoyed his review of G-Nome as that was the very first PC game I played. It came with my family Windows 95 back probably when the game was released so 1997. It game with that and some educational game that had math and spelling.

He is a great guy and really enjoy his voice.

Love LGR; the girlfriend has been a long time viewer, but it was the Thrift series that first turned Clint into a regular staple of both our evening YouTube viewings :)

LGR - Claw: Monolith's Pirate Platformer for PC. I remember playing this on a Windows 98 PC back in the day, but I had no idea that it was one of the earliest PC games released on a DVD ROM.

As far as original DOS/ Win9x platformers go, it was alright.

This channel brings out so much Nostalgia for me it is crazy i grew up in a home where my dad usually got the latest cool PC stuff like a DVD drive in 1997. So i played the DVD version of Claw back in the day.

Also have a small collection of retro PC games, not even 1% of what Clint got but anyway. The pic is quite old and outdated though since i don't live in that room but i couldnt find any better or newer one. But most of them are in mint condition and complete such as Outcast, Tiberian Sun, Quake etc.
