Kellyanne Conway on cuts to Medicaid: 'get a job.'

What about low skilled workers who can't find jobs in general because 99.9% of employers won't train on the job anymore?

People expect years of experience for entry level jobs now. Our entire system is busted.

This is true of people graduating with degrees as well. Not only are they disqualified from jobs they went to school for because of experience they are out of luck at entry level jobs for the same reason. Half of college graduates accept jobs not requiring their degree.

What a human piece of shit.
I swear to God, why does nobody confront her live on camera about this shit she's always spilling? Wtf is the press doing?

Why does everyone think as soon as you get a job you get healthcare? Uh, no.

And these people already have healthcare so this won't effect them, yet they think they need to chime in, in a snarky way. Conway, fuck off.

Digusting. Shes evil and nothing but pure trash. She sold her soul and morals for money and has the audacity to say this shit. The epitome of "Fuck you, got mine."

Fuck her. Hopefully if whenever Trump goes down he drags her with him.

Last time I checked those laws keep getting struck down in the courts.

Struck down recently only after years of having been in effect. And voter suppression also includes the resources the GOP puts into gerrymandering and warping districts to their benefit.

Because we live in a democracy where we can vote these people out. Not a monarchy where revolution or regicide is the only option.

It's still a democracy, technically. But that entire system and the way it functions has been fucked with and subverted to such an extent that to lable the current situation as such would be extremely charitable.

Even when you work, and make good money and work for VERY reputable companies the insurance quality can vary greatly.

It's an oligarchy in reality.

Exactly.

I'm lucky that my job supplies me with free benefits (at the sacrifice of lesser wages), but I have a friend who works in construction and pays out of the ass for benefits.

And just because you have a job, doesn't mean you get benefits either.

Did anyone bother to remind her that he promised not to cut medicaid or at this point do we just accept that everything he says is bullshit?

Exactly.

Yup. My wife works full time. Her benefits are terrible. If I didn't have my job she'd have to quit because it's that bad.

I recently changed jobs from one fortune 500 company to another. Make more money. But medical benefits are worse. My wife's birth control skyrocketed. My meds went up as well.

And medical across the board costs more. Deductable, upfront..etc. I'm gonna need major surgery in a year or two (hip replacement) and my copay at the previous job was a few grand. I can only imagine this time how much it'll be.

Just having a job don't mean shit in terms of quality/affordable health care.

These vile motherfuckers don't even realize the world they inhabit.

The gig economy employs nearly 40% of Americans. They have fucking jobs.

People who work at Walmart have fucking jobs.

The future should be where one's access to basic necessities needs to be assured prior to fucking jobs.

Fuck this witch and the literal evolved parasites who think like her. Why is it that the Republican talking points consistently get decoupled from reality, but this makes them hold their views in a harder fashion?

What's next, more means-testing and "dignity to work" propaganda as we enter a larger precariat crisis?

But I know a guy who doesn't have a job and doesn't want one and yet says he loves taking advantage of the government.

Because of that guy, I voted for Trump to fuck over millions.

The American way has transitioned from "What can I do to help lift us as a nation" to "What can I do to make sure that guys I don't like suffer? Even if it costs me and mine as well? My hate is more important than the welfare of the country or even myself, my friends and family."

I mean I know a few individuals that take advantage of the system. Absolutely I do. But do you not feed millions because hundreds eat when they could feed themselves? It's ridiculous.

My thing is:

1. Mainstream white america didn't give a shit about government assistance when it was giving out millions upon millions of acres of free land to white people. Or home loans to get poor whites out of the cities and into the burbs. Welfare wasn't a conservative talking point until black people became eligible.

2. The same mofos bitching about welfare don't give two shits bout corporate welfare. How much are we still subsidizing walmarts employees because they don't pay a living wage? That's welfare.

Yeah.

Again, system is busted, and has been so by design.

But hey, gotta make sure these rich assholes get more money. That's what truly makes America great.

I'm so fucking sick of it.

Wait a minute. This is even dumber than I thought it was going to be when I read the thread title. I thought she was trying to say that people should get a job so that they can buy health insurance. But Conway is saying we should all be getting jobs that provide employer based health insurance?

How fucking stupid do you have to be to say such a thing? I've had more than a dozen jobs over the course of my adult life and probably no more than 3 provided me with health insurance.

She much like everyone else who is supporting Trump is showing how little they understand these actual situations. They look at the pure dollar and cents and couldn't care less about what the programs actually DO.

We really shit the bed by tying employment to health care.
Who thought that was a good idea?

I would have started a business and grew the economy if I didn't have to worry about health care.

some of these plans are also getting worse and worse as insurance companies try to cut cost as well as employers. Kind of raw deal.

The American democratic system has failed it's people. The popular vote doesn't mean shit and politicians became really good at exploiting the system with Gerrymandering, voting times and locations that make it hard for a certain group of people to even go voting and whatnot.

This cannot be said enough, our form of democracy has been exploited by people in power so effectively as to ruin it.

Exactly. They are looking at the financial info and nothing else. They're just trying to cut taxes for the wealthy by cutting whatever they can. Doesn't matter where the money comes from.

We're truly living in Rand Land.

"There has never been a rollback of basic services to Americans like this ever in US history," said Bruce Siegel, president of America's Essential Hospitals, a coalition of about 300 hospitals that treat a large share of low-income patients. "Let's not mince words. This bill will close hospitals. It will hammer rural hospitals, it will close nursing homes. It will lead to disabled children not getting services ... People will die."

You can, just don't schedule them for more than 33 hrs a week or hire them as part time, work them as many hours as you want, and then fire them before 6 mos is up so you don't have to give them full time benefits.

Hey Kellyanne, how about closing loopholes that allow employers to hire people as "contract workers" (especially in Information Technology and Computer Science fields) thus allowing them to screw employees out of supposedly mandated ACA employer based coverage. No? Of course not. Residents of GOPLand who have positions of power don't give a flying shit about employees, just employers - oh, sorry, I mean "job creators".

She much like everyone else who is supporting Trump is showing how little they understand these actual situations. They look at the pure dollar and cents and couldn't care less about what the programs actually DO.

Or they're one issue voters who can't see beyond that single issue to care about anything else. My late father would have fit in that category. He voted straight line Republican for the last 30 years of his life solely because the NRA told him to. He was actually pro-choice and adamantly pro-separation of church and state but he didn't give a damn that the Republican platform was the opposite of his views. NRA gave GOP people "A" ratings in their shitty monthly magazine, so that's who he voted for.

Or they're utterly naive and believe "oh he wasn't talking about doing things that would affect US" when they voted for him. Like the coal miners of rural Kentucky who overwhelmingly voted for Trump believing he wasn't going to repeal ACA's benefits for them or the woman who voted for Trump knowing her husband was undocumented and was flabbergasted that her husband was deported because he wasn't one of the "bad ones" (when the whole "only going to deport the bad ones" didn't get said until after Trump was elected and he spent his entire campaign threatening to get rid of ALL undocumented immigrants). In other words, typical Republican voter hypocrisy.

dofry

That's "Dr." dofry to you.
I'm from Finland and I am happy to pay taxes so that anyone can go to a hospital when they are sick. I can't fathom how a person should have a job to get healthcare. It is beyond fucked up. I provide your care because that is the most humane thing to do. Or, maybe I am just a Marxist socialist asshole.

This is not just the sentiment of Kellyanne Conway alone but most of the Beltway. Fuck people, how can we and our donors get this money.

This nation is on its way down the toilet, circling the drain.

Exactly. They are looking at the financial info and nothing else. They're just trying to cut taxes for the wealthy by cutting whatever they can. Doesn't matter where the money comes from.

What gets me most here is the problem of money is really the problem of wealth.

Money isn't wealth. Wealth is the innate resources of the earth, for if our symbolism -- money -- goes away, we still survive if we had baseline access to the earth.

And yet, because the human mind always falls for the descriptions of the described, the inferential over the innate, not only do we create scarcity, but justify it because the conceptions are what we care for first.

This is precisely why we are still the same species that sees a Great Depression as a loss of "real" wealth, how people starve amidst plenty in the most productive period in American history, and how we bamboozle ourselves into jobs cults, because a compartmentalized arena of "canonical work" has been asserted as objective means of survival value.

We don't even have to get into the problem of living for the symbolism that we're destroying the objective world, but parties like the Republican party have absolutely lost touch with reality here. If you care about raw numbers, there is "no reason" for Americans to be upset at all: after all, the stock market is near all-time highs.

Symbolisms don't account for much when examined, especially the lived-in experience. These dolts haven't a fuckin' clue how their ideology has given them cataracts to the world as it is.

It's because America decided to live another way and to them what your country or most of EU, Canada (and we have issues of our own) et al have is tantamount to "socialism" which is a dirty and unpatriotic word in America.

Eat ALL the dicks, you spineless cunt.

I'm so fucking tired of republicans saying this same
Shit over and over. "GET A JOB!" Most of us have jobs and they don't provide healthcare. But no, in fucking bizzaro world that these fucks live in, the only reason you don't have something did because you're lazy or poor. Fuck off.

Seriously.

And yet with the vast majority of these jobs that don't offer healthcare, these jobs are still crucial to the structure of the organization. So someone has to do these jobs. So I don't get the logic.

You know what - until Dems have a solution to Fox News, she can get away with saying this. Over and over again.
Yep.

The world, including me, laughed at how ridiculous the concept of a "alternative fact" was. A relative of mine, however, who watches Fox daily thought it was a sound point from Kellyanne Conway.
