Garbage) Everything Else

Watch 1 & 2 then skip the rest of the crap and just watch the original cartoons again.

The original cartoons don't really hold up, like most 80s toy commerical cartoons, IMHO. Watch the first season, which is basically a mini-series, and stop there.

Your time is better spent on the 2003 series or the current Nickelodeon show.

TMNT 1990
TMNT 2007
TMNT2: Secret of the Ooze

The rest aren't really worth ranking. The 1990 is also underrated on the GOAT superhero movie list.

My man. I actually got Kevin Munroe to sign a DVD copy of the 2007 TMNT film when he was in town filming Dead of Night. I bet he was shocked as hell that I even knew who he was.

This, and I'm ok with the crazy III...the new ones suck. The art direction is a total turn off for me.

They were fun as $1.50 UV purchases to watch with my kids though.

In France, Raphael was voiced by Serge Gainsbourg in TMNT III - so it is the most popular one there. Not even kidding.

For all of its faults, Out of the Shadows felt like the 80s cartoon series in live action. Nothing will ever top the original, however. Such a great flick that really struck a nice balance between the absurdity of the premise and gritty action. The CG movie had its moments, admittedly. Everything else is shit.

The original> Secret of The Ooze> TMNT>Out of the Shadows>2014>3

TMNT has a flimsy plot, but the character interactions between the turtles is great. The original is just an all around great film; great effects, awesome tone, and well done plot.

You realize they also used that subtitle for the third movie (unfortunately)?

Don't see it on the movie poster or DVD box. (Or VHS box, which mirrors the DVD box.)

I'm not trying to be a hardass, it's just a minor annoyance when folks tend to label the third film "Turtles in Time".

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) - Even though this movie borrows a few elements from the 1987 cartoon series (coloured headbands, character personalities, April being a reporter) it is the most faithful to the original 1984 Mirage comic series. The plot is mostly pieced together from the first few original issues. Also, the movie has a cool vibe to it, very late '80s/ early '90s and of course Jim Henson's animations were great.

- Turtles Forever (2009) - This is a TV movie, but it is still a movie. I do have some problems with this one, mostly with the original 1987 Turtles being depicted as being much stupider than they were from the original cartoon. The original series did get really stupid, yes, but it was never this bad. But I did like the cross over between the 2003 turtles, the 1987 turtles and the 1984 comic book series.

- TMNT (2007) - This was an OK CG film. The only real problem I had with it was the weak villain plot.

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) - This is just a watered down version of the first 1990 movie. A lot more slapstick and kid friendly. To be honest, it is not very good, but I do have to give it some bonus points for Vanilla Ice.

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016)- I can appreciate this one for trying to be like the 1987 cartoon series, but at the same time, it is not for me. Too many obnoxious scenes for my liking. But I liked it more than the first one.

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) - I don;t really remember much about this one...

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993) - The worst one. Nothing more to say.
