My partner had developed a dangerous bee allergy, so they gave her controlled shots of venom over a period of a few years to build up body tolerances. It's only recently they were able to stop the shots.
Jamming random shots of the stuff into you as a weird homestyle cure-all seems pretty clueless. (And the stuff isn't exactly cheap.)
