Strange.

I'm rolling a duel screen setup. With the original version of the beta that I donwloaded straight from the official websites torrent I could move my cursor from the game screen to my second screen which usually had my browser up and interact with both without any problems. The one I downloaded from Steam doesn't let me do that, even if I launch the game from outside of the steam interface. Is there any way I can fix this?

i'm confused - i did a bunch of missions where i was given (bridge?) officers as the reward but i cant find them anywhere. i still have the one i got right at the start, but when i look at the person icon thing in the top right its just me, them and the ship, and when i have an away party i can only choose them or 'security'

where did the rest of them go? after digging in the help it seems to say they will turn up in my inventory and then i can somehow put them in my team, but i have nothing like that in my inventory :(

did they just disappear or something?

You get some document thingy you have to activate to commission them.

where is it though? i tried pressing 'I' and looking through all the stuff a couple of times and theres just some items, ship stuff and that kind of thing, no documents or anything about officers. do you have more than one inventory screen or do they just show up there?

Press "U" -> click "Assignments" on the top.

There on the right side you see your new BOs. But as already mentioned there is a bug that prevents you from getting quest rewards currently.

So the only way to get the Steam version to work is to not launch it through Steam? I want to be able to launch through Steam so it keeps track of my total hours played.

That's the current workaround. Steam tries to "update" the game by redownloading all 10 GBs of it.

Why? This isn't just a friend list thread, it's the official thread for a game. Other official threads for online focused games don't get moved to Online.

Maybe you were running in Borderless Windowed mode before?

Has anyone figured out how to target subsystems? I was on a mission and it kept telling me to target their photon torpedo bank. I had no idea how so I just kept firing regularly.

I think only Science Vessels can do that.

Hmmm... Maybe I was. The game appeared to be running full screen though. Hmmm... I'll adjust my settings and see if this was it.

EDIT: Borderless Windowed mode option isn't there. :( I do remember it being there in the torrent version of the beta though. Did they take it out?

Maximized Windowed mode almost does the same thing but the Windows Bar at the bottom overlaps the game screen.

I am a science vessel, hmmm I guess I`ll just keep hunting for the button. I need a bigger monitor all the buttons on the bottom seem so small.

I've never had a Science Vessel so I have no idea how they do it, but I've been told that they can target subsystems. The only subsystems that make sense to disable are engines, to prevent the enemy from moving/turning so they are easy to kill.

Press P while in your ship to bring up your powers menu, the subsystem buttons should be there, just drag and drop them to your action bar.

Was hoping to get an hour or so in before I go to work today, but things are running extremely slow. Oh well, I'll probably end up logging more hours than I should tonight. :lol

If they're not going to follow the philosophical outlines GR (R.I.P) set up, If their not going to "teach" the player through choice and consequence, why the fuck have they been given permission to create this MMO?

If they're not up to the task, put the IP on the shelf and wait for someone who is...

The game should be about exploration and personal discovery, not "Look at the elite/rare shit I got!!!".

I can run STO and World of Warcraft at the same time and play STO with no performance lag.

If the game didn't have unexpected server downtime EVERY DAY during prime hours I would've been more inclined to buy a lifetime sub.

I figure that I won't be playing this game 2-3 years straight. Definitely don't want to risk paying that much.

Lonewolf_9, I'm embarrassed to say, but I'm not sure. I'll check again once the servers are up. My full character name is Daneel R. Bailey, my Cryptic account name is Jubal.

I'm enjoying ground combat a LOT more than I was in the beta. Maybe it's the new UI for BOff's, but I'm making a lot more use of the flanking and Expose/Exploit gameplay.

Same. I mean, I'm actually mor into the ground combat than the ship to ship stuff. Laying mines, setting up turrets, and shooting people in the face is more fun now than I remember in beta. :lol

hmmm.. definitely need to get the hang of ground combat apparently.. I just set everyone to FFA and take care of things with my Sniper Pulse Rifle... works well enough... but I don't know what you guys are talking about with all of these other commands.

I guess I have a midrange system or whatever in regards to the card.
4850 card, 8gb ram, phenom 2 x4 945 and I run it 1920x1080p full settings with no issues.

I'm starting to miss any kind of death penalty.

I was looking to go for the cruiser way, but the no death penalty rule makes the full-DPS escorts way better than tanking with cruiser or buffing with science.
